I don't see why it's so important we sign him. Firstly, we haven't got the hardest fixture list in January anyways. We could have Anelka up front on his own or with one of the youngsters. This could be a great time for Kakuta, Borini and Strurridge to prove their worth. We also have the option of bring backing Di Santo who has done well at Blackburn. We are also going to have to pay a lot of money for Aguero who might not be even first choice with Anelka and Drogba. I doubt he will like sitting on the bench as well. While also he's just getting in the way of our youngsters anyway.

First of all, schedule doesn't mean anything. They haven't played many good teams lately and they haven't been winning. The more good, young players they can get, the better. Second, Kakuta, Borini, and Sturridge can't play at the same time or each game. Aguero gives them a player that can play every game if needed and with the youngsters if Anelka needs a game off. Third, management has already said Di Santo will be staying at Blackburn for the rest of the year. Fourth, The money spent on Aguero is for the future. It's not like they are spending 40 mil on a guy just as a replacement for January. He is a long term solution to the aging of Drogba and Anelka.

I think its rather pivotal that we get him or a young player close to his level ( and there are very few of those around Europe ) , as stated above , this would be a star signing akin to Liverpool signing Torres or Man Utd signing Rooney , this guy would slot instantly into the side , a partnership with him and Drogba would be simply lethal and eventually in a few years he is the sort of player you can build your entire team around. The reason why its important is that he is young , he is an absolutely clinical goalscorer and he is one of those rare players in the Torres , Drogba or Ronaldo mould that can single handedly change a game , as good as Nicolas Anelka is ( and he is damn good ) he just doesnt have that single moment impact of a player like Aguero. Chances are we will not get a better chance to sign him because you canb bet if we dont then Real Madrid , Man City and Man Utd will all be sniffing around and if he goes to one of them clubs thats our chances of signing him down the drain.

Chelsea will intensify their attempts to reach an agreement with Atlético Madrid for the transfer of Sergio Agüero over the next few days amid fears that they could be gazumped by Manchester City.

Agüero’s advisers have informed Chelsea that City have also made an inquiry about the Argentina striker, who scored two brilliant goals against the West London club in the 2-2 Champions League draw in Madrid last month. Atlético are asking £50 million for the 21-year-old, with Chelsea nowhere near meeting that valuation.

Many at Chelsea have painful memories of being humiliated by City when Sheikh Mansour’s club bought Robinho as the transfer window closed 15 months ago, and are determined to prevent a repeat, having been tracking Agüero for more than a year.

Chelsea were unable to agree terms with the player or his club last year, but are hopeful of success next month because Atlético have debts of £275 million and are out of the Champions League. They would consider loaning Agüero back to the Spanish side for the remainder of the season, assuming that the price was right.

Chelsea are aware that they cannot compete with City on transfer fees and wages, so want to push through a deal quickly or refocus on alternative targets such as Edin Dzeko, Wolfsburg’s Bosnia-Herzegovina striker.

With Didier Drogba and Salomon Kalou leaving to join Ivory Coast for the African Nations Cup after the fixture against Fulham on Monday, Chelsea need attacking options. Michael Ballack believes that Daniel Sturridge could be the answer. “Yes he can [step up] — he has to,” Ballack said of the 20-year-old who joined from Manchester City in the summer. “We will miss Didier as well as Kalou. Hopefully the players behind them, like Daniel, have the quality to close this gap.”

tbh I don't see a reason why we should loan Aguero back to the club?? If Aguero loves being a blue so much, as some reports say, what's the point in having to wait until next August to play for us?? I don't get it

true, and anyways you don't loan such a big player, youngsters and reserves yes but not anyone of that quality.

And another thing, while he's on loan, we still have to pay a majority of his wages since he would be "our" player. Being a player like Aguero, you can imagine the wage demands in his contract. IMO, I think it's just throwing money out of the club. Think about it, paying wages to a top class player when he isn't even registered to play for us.

I'd say just sign him up, and that would be the end of it.
