Why not? Were one of the most financially successful teams in the sport. Lets splash a little extra cash on the fella. Its not money out of YOUR pocket, so whats the problem? Man City's spree was a disaster (except for Tevez) and they are still trying to spend a little more. Aguero is a bulletproof signing, snatch him up!

Because the club is trying to break even. We are already paying too many players too much money and things need to be changed. The football market is beyond a joke atm. There is too much money being blown.

This is true. Altough, until FIFA actually do something about it all we can do is try and keep up with other clubs. Lets face it, If we are to even make a dent in the Barcelona stronghold, then we need to spend a little cash... At the moment our game is a little to predictable. Very good, but predictable. A spark like Aguero could really add a certain Torres-esk factor to our already strong front line....

This lad is a quality player but when he was linked before there was a bit of rumour flying about that he was asking for something like 200 grand a week after tax - that's just ridiculous. I don't think we should bend over backwards to get hold of him and let him mug us off for wages especially considering there's going to be a hefty transfer fee as well. He is the real deal though.

Agree mate. I know its not going to happy and i don't think fifa will do anything about it so i guess all we can really do is spend big. But that said i don't like it and im sure most Chelsea fans don't either.

That kind of money is ridiculous on wages for a player that isnt proven in our league, I think we learnt our lesson with Sheva.

The top earners at our club have earned their high wages by proving to be world class players for us (Lamps, JT and Didier) even if the amounts were talking are stupidly high (thats modern football).

Ideally, he should come to us on a reasonable wage, prove himself in the EPL etc and then he may deserve a pay rise.

Most Definetly.. But we all know that's not going to happen. With those Cocksuckers at Mancity offering big bucks and probably CL football, we really can't afford to muck around. I can bet you they will make a very decent push for the title next season. At the moment Chelsea need 1 specialist right mid and a young striker who is willing to learn..

I think Chelsea need 2-3 great players to challenge the best in CL and I think Aguero should be our top priority.

Big clubs are spending lots of money and If we want to keep up with them we need to spend some money to. Not 250€ million like Real but at least 100€ million to bring 3 top players. Why do we have rich owners if they don't buy nothing ?? Our squad is getting old and we need fresh players this summer !!

I would rather have 3-4 players then to have 1 player that is the same price for 3-4.

Hamsik is one player i would love to come to the club, Romeliu Lukaku is one amazing prospect i would love to see in a Chelsea shirt too. And i would love to see some of OUR youngsters actually time to play, but if we sign just random people for too much not only would it harm the club's chances to break even but we will most likely have a risk of a Sheva moment again.

for me the big obstacle is the wage demand not the transfer fee ,,if granted it would trigger wage increases for

a number of our top earners and demands from most of the rest , our wage structure needs controlling

not blowing away

Yes but having the large transfer fee and the wage demand would come with the same problem. Instead of decreasing the wage bill by getting rid of players like Deco, Ballack and etc, then surely it would be a waste if we sign a player earning more than them. I want to see more players coming in this season then just one.

TEAM NEWS Chelsea v Bolton

Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka both start for Chelsea as manager Carlo Ancelotti picks an attacking side to face Bolton. As expected Joe Cole and Deco are rested with Salomon Kalou and Michael Ballack returning to start at Stamford Bridge, but the in-form Florent Malouda must make do with a place on the bench. Ancelotti is still without a host of players though, including Jose Bosingwa, Michael Essien, Ricardo Carvalho and Ashley Cole. Bolton boss Owen Coyle makes two changes from the side that lost to Aston Villa on 3 April, with Gretar Steinsson and Matt Taylor returning at the expense of Tamir Cohen and Johan Elmander.

aguero will be better than torres in the epl i am 100% sure of that a little preview was the 40 minutes he played against Chelsea and scored 2 magnifecent goals .....

i don't care how much we are gonna pay for him i dont care his wage demand is as long as it's less than 150 000 and he will never ask for more .... i mean be reasonable no player will come to Chelsea asking to get paid more than terry and lamps .... no one will go for man u asking to be paid more than rooney ... no player will go for barca asking to be paid more than messi .....

so even if we had to pay 65 millions to get that guy i say do it .... he is ripping defences appart while he is with atletco madrid !!!!!!

plus the boy is just 21 so we will get our money back we will either sell him when he is 26 after 5 years of service or he can continue playing for us for like at least 10 years .....

if aguero came to Chelsea next year ... we will win the epl again the ucl and in a couple of years he will be there as one of the Chelsea icons ......
