The Next Manager?

Pochettino or Tuchel. Both of those names would fill me with optimism.

Poch would be great, massive fan but Levy's a cunt and would see hell freeze over first. Tuchel needs some seasons under his belt at Borussia before he's ready to step up to the next level imo.

The issue here is that you're looking at another short-term appointment to come in and apply his style in a half-arsed way for a few seasons with some success (if the board backs him) and then be replaced by someone who will do something else.

I think the club has to have a frank discussion about what it actually wants to be and not just in the sort-term, but over the next decade and beyond. The issue there is that no-one seems to be in a position to say that to Roman who is a great man, but not the technician of a footballing dynasty.

We don't need a manager, we need an identity.

I have to disagree with you a bit on this matter. When we hire mourinho, the clubs has already set the identity. Everybody know mourinho is a defensive manager with certain way of playing and we expect him to be here for a long time.

We sold kdb, mata and schurrle and replace them with Pedro and Willian. Both are more willing runner compare the other two.

Imo you set your identity by the type of manager that you hire and by the type of player that you buy.

Were not getting anyone decent without champion league football.

Well I don't think that's necessarily true. Klopp went to Liverpool without them attaining CL football, same with Van Gaal. Regardless of how their tenures have gone, they're world class coaches with ambitions to see their clubs back in the Champions League.

Money also talks.

#Chelsea will appoint Guus Hiddink as their new manager, according to former Blues striker Mateja Kezman. [sky Sports]

Mateja Kezman: "I'm convinced that with Hiddink, #Chelsea will recover. I'd even say they're one of the favourites for the CL." [sky Sports]

Mateja Kezman: "I am not surprised by Roman Abramovich's decision to get rid of Jose Mourinho." [sky Sports]

Mateja Kezman: "Mourinho is a superb coach but the results and position in the league are catastrophic and damaging #Chelsea." [sky Sports]

Mateja Kezman: "It is incredible that this team were champions last season and are now fighting for dear life in the league." [sky Sports]

Mateja Kezman: "I think this decision is correct and appointing Guus Hiddink is a great choice." [sky Sports]

Hiddink did quite a good job last time he was here considering the circumstances, but that was quite some time ago and he really hasn't been very sucesfull at any of his manager jobs since then. As an interim, ok, but he shouldn't even be considered as a permanent option imo. Not to mention he's almost 70 now and not getting any younger.
