5 starts and 11 sub appearances to show at least a little bit of promise. Not much to ask. He didn't provide!

Those sub appearances were laughable in terms of being a real chance. And as far as I'm concerned he did provide promise, probably more than most of the other U21s that tried to break into our first team in the last few years (McEachran included).

Won't argue with the rest of your previous post but I feel that's exactly the kind of attitude that will stop us from ever developing a true talent to its full potential.

I've said it before and I'm certain I'll say it again. We over rate our youth far to much. If they are good enough they will play à la Josh McEachran.

We certainly do, probably to the extent most football fans overrate their own youth players. I usually have no problem pointing that out when we do.

However there's a far cry between not overrating your young players and claiming they were given chances when they weren't (FFS I remember someone saying in one of the Sturridge threads during the season that he failed at Chelsea while Carletto did all he could in terms of playing him) and trashing them for not performing up to the standards Messi set for 19 year old players.

Being a Kakuta fan I can't be a neutral judge but I'd argue that his performances in the European U19 Championship and him winning the Golder Player award does earn him more chances than a 4 month loan at Fulham, which wasn't an outright failure to begin with.

I understand where you're coming from and he could still become a good player, but to suggest he should replace Malouda really is silly.

I dont think it's silly in the slightest. It's rather logical considering our owner has taken a stance to develop the youth. Not to be offensive, but judging from your posts you are far too simplistic in your short term expectations. Part of it is sound tho, he hasn't shown to be the next best thing in football. That, however, doesnt rule him out of replacing a player (who IMO takes far too much criticism) in Malouda. I think it's a good call to have him replace him, as it looks malouda will remain, considering he got re signed this summer. I think it falls in line with the clubs youth philosophy.

Someone saw France vs Chile this week?

Malouda played a lot on the right wing, and he was kind a impressive with nice runs on that wing, crosses, dangerous low balls...

If he will play with this energy maybe we it can be okay with him, Sturridge and This Alvero Perrira from Porto.

Classic Malouda. Trust him to pop up with goals during the beginning and end of seasons. Boosts his stats, makes him look useful and books his place as a starter. Then BOOM, as soon as 'bad moment' arrives, goes missing, does fuck all apart from changing his hairdo every week. Rinse and repeat for every new manager to walk through the Stamford Bridge revolving door.

Hopefully AvB sees through this and asks him to sort his crap out.

This was one of the reason i think Avram was brought to help with transfer, cause Mourinho made some good signings when he came, but as time went he made some horrible ones!

Kalou being the best ever signing. :Goober:

But I think it's best this way with the Director and the manager. We have not really made bad signings since then, other then the desperate signing of Torres. Which he will come good, but the amount we paid, came out of desperation.

With the manager and director discussing things, a smart comprise can be reach.

Malouda, who hit the winner against West Brom on Saturday, said: "We won the Double and then Carlo gets fired. It wouldn't happen to Alex Ferguson.

But I like the new manager and hope he sticks around. We need consistency."

Yeah, well done bringing that up again.

Anyone else notice that before September 1 of every year he is in sizzling form, but after September 1 he turns to shit, and becomes a good player again from January 1st-January 31st, then doesn't give a shit again.
