Fulham Broadway 17,722
The biggest obstacle isnt particular players, they are a symptom of lack of ambition - its the current custodians of our club. They have no real desire to be great, to win stuff. They are happy for the club to wallow in mediocrity, and just to make their personal bank balances bigger. He is not a bad squad player either to have if we want, not great but he's a pretty normal looking backup player for a top team. Could send him to Strasbourg for a year to pad his numbers and sell him on for more than we'll pay Utd surely. But that is a big IF about him willingly writing off a huge amount of his salary that we don't have much info on. Pretty sure there is a restriction on the number of foreign loans you can have during a season, sending Sancho somewhere else just to statpad doesn't really make sense. He's not worth the 25 million fee that United negotiated, they're probably delighted to get those wages off the books. mkh

Neto is a weird one as the skill is there and he can run for days but I really wish he had that clinical finish in him. Feel like he could easily be a 10 goal a season player with a better finish in him, saw that during his days at Wolves as well, can see why Arsenal wanted him as another wing option. Agree - he is one of a handful that have the right attitude. Can have all the skill in the World but if you dont have the confidence, and desire for the team to do well its academic

This is the window that will finally cement what they’re actually about. They’ve spent the past 3 years stockpiling teenagers and young players to “set us up for the next 10 years” or whatever. Fine, we’ve now got loads of ultra promising kids. Have they now learned having watched this season that we desperately need some ready made, experienced players injected into the side? Or will they continue the same strategy and buy more 18-19 year olds? Continuing on this same way after they’ve seen us collapse in the second half of the season due to inexperience and naivety will ensure that the exact same thing happens next season. We will be fighting for 5th again. Arse, Liverpool, and City will be going out and signing 2-3 key players to complete their squads in a surgical way. If we don’t do the same we will be light years behind them once again next season. We’ve got Estevão, Santos, and that midfielder from Sporting coming in. That’s enough youth. Get us some finished products now. Fulham Broadway

Vesper 31,037
https://siphillipstalkschelsea.substack.com/p/player-profile-mamadou-sarr Good Morning Everyone, As promised on last weeks pod, see below player profile on Mamadou Sarr! Mamadou Sarr Player profile; Age: 19 Nationality: French (Uncapped) Position: Centre Back (Right-footed) Height: 6ft 5in Sarr began his football career at Étoile Sportive de Saint-Laurent-Blangy, before joining Lens, where his father plays. He then moved to Lyon in 2018. During the 2021–22 season, at only 16 years old, he established himself as a starter with Lyon under-19 team. In May 2023, Sarr made his professional debut in Lyon's 3–0 Ligue 1 victory against Reims as a substitute. January 2024, Sarr moved on loan to RWD Molenbeek in Belgium until the end of the 2023–24 season. In August 2024, Sarr joined Strasbourg for a transfer fee of €10M and signed a five-year contract. Style of play; Sarr is known for his strong defensive ability as well as his on the ball tendencies. He's considered a complete defender in terms of attributes he possesses, but one who can improve in all facets. He excels in tackling, marking, and aerial duels, while also having good passing skills and a decent level of athleticism. Key Characteristics; Solid Defender: He excels at tackling, marking, and winning aerial duels. Ball-playing Center-back: He's comfortable with the ball at his feet and uses his passing to help build attacks. Versatile: He can play as a center-back and defensive midfielder. Physical presence: He's a tall player with good physical strength and stamina. Good anticipation: He reads the game well and anticipates the play. Composed in possession: He maintains his composure under pressure and is confident with the ball. Strengths: Tackling: He's known for his effective tackling. Marking: He does a good job of marking his opponent. Aerial duels: He is strong in the air and wins many aerial duels. Passing: He has good passing accuracy and can distribute the ball effectively. Anticipation: He reads the game well and anticipates the play. Physicality: He is strong and physically imposing. Composure: He stays composed under pressure. Areas for improvement: Concentration: He can sometimes lack concentration, leading to costly mistakes. Nonchalance: He can be a bit too relaxed at times, which may improve with experience A couple of clips below that are worth watching; Verdict; For £11.9m it is a really risk free signing, he comes with pedigree in French youth and now senior football and has the physical profile we require. After doing some extensive research on the player I am now excited to see him in Blue. With the heavy ins and outs expected at centre back this summer he could come in and really help us! A CB unit that hypothetically looks like; Colwill, Huijsen, Tah, Sarr & Fofana would look great to me! Hypothetical I know….. Mhsc 1,139
What I really want to know is who the fuck are we buying to be Captain? We need an on field leader. International captain of a serious footballing country. That's the minimum Chelsea standard. Can't go another season without a proper captain. OneMoSalah 9,089
Sancho signing seemingly more likely and a lot of talk of Petrovic coming back next season. Fucking hell. If we end up with Sancho and Petrovic starting every week next season… wow. I think we should be starting a gofundme page to raise £5m for the club to pay United to make the deal not happen…. And the French CB Mamadou Sarr… didn’t we already sign him under Lampard 😂? What the fuck is the obsession with this club signing youngsters when it is absolutely plain to see we need leaders and experience? Every one can see this. These sporting directors and owners are an absolute cancer that needs to be cut out of this club…. Edited April 24, 2025 by OneMoSalah

I'm open minded Petrovic might have improved - but he definitely wasn't good enough when he was with us (I don't waste my life watching Strasbourg so can't say, but hear he's improved significantly) Both my heart and head tell me that we need GK and 2 CBs though. Petrovic maybe a backup and competition. Can't be a serious team without serious players in those positions. OneMoSalah
