Look Garnacho isn’t a bad player (in another window and with other options in attack, would of 100% taken him) but the whole thing for me is he is another u21 player who is learning the game and won’t immediately improve what we’ve got.

The age group of what we are looking to recruit for has been wrong for 12 months at least now. We need good established and proven players to help the younger guys along.

Why we keep being linked to these u21 players is absolutely beyond me - obviously the sporting directors think having the lowest average age of match day squad is better than winning trophies….

Maresca says Sanchez has saved us far more than he has hurt us

delusional 🤬

I agree with him.

Its easy to have blinders on after a bad keeping display - but even recently he has saved us more than he has hurt us.

Again - I don't think he is the long term answer, but he hasn't been nearly as bad as people make out.

Maresca: “Lavia’s injury is worse then Enzo’s”😡

Maresca; “Enzo Fernandez vs City? I’m not sure, I think he may need some more days” (@SkySportsPL)

Lavia’s injury struggles are legit the most frustrated I’ve ever been with a player. Reece has had terrible injury luck but when he does come back from them he usually plays for a while before getting injured again. Lavia has been out more than he’s has played! He’s 20 years old and has the body of a fucking 60 year old!

He is an unbelievable talent and someone who I 100% believe would go in to become a world class midfielder if he stayed fit. We would have the best midfield trio in world football if Lavia had the fitness record of Caicedo.

Surely we HAVE to pull the trigger on recalling one of our loanees. And it has to happen THIS WEEK. We cannot go into that City game with Caicedo and KDH as the only resistance in midfield. They’ll rip us to shreds.

Absolutely he’s dross, Thors point still stands though, he has saved us more points than he has lost us, he’s a shit keeper no denying that fact, does stupid fucking frustrating things a lot but at the same time he makes some very good saves, easy to just focus on the bad stuff as the simple stuff he does well doesn’t get blown out of proportion.

A far better GKer would have very likely made those saves AND also NOT made so many shit errors (which are so not limited to just ones that directly led to opposition goals).

But we don’t have a far better GK, it’s just shoulda woulda coulda at this point.

I - unlike others on here - don't think the keeper or striker market is all that great.

It was last season when Duran was available for cheap and a few others. Now there are inflated prices.

80% of people on here were screaming for VO and look at the level he is now. Imagine if we got him.

Its not like this is ancient history, so the sentiment was easy to remember, but people were talking all kinds of shit if we ended up getting Duran or Gyokeres. Now apparently they are the answer. I hate this nonsense hindsight "I am right" view most take on here.

We're heading upwards. We are playing better and have an identity (we know the type of football we can expect in terms of style). We are scoring goals and could score more. We know, and I'm sure the sporting directors know where the issues are - there have been talks about CBs for a while now, and it is clear they will sort it come next season as they follow through on what they talk about.

Like what is the issue? No one here is patient at all, and we act like we didn't just have recent success in 2021. It isn't an easy job to turn around a ship of overpaid players, coming off transfer bans, a coach that was letting his personal problems slip into the team, and completely rebuilding the team.

We have two top 5 young talents in the world with Cole and Estevao. We have a fantastic midfield. Our offence is potent for the most part already.

You'd think we're Manchester United with doom and gloom further on the way if you read this board. Fuck me dead.
