I do get why people are worried. However, I am actually hopeful Jackson will improve as the season goes on and in Nkunku, Palmer and Felix I do feel there are enough goals with them in the F9 position. Sure it isn't perfect, but equally the Risk of handing either of those two big contracts is a bigger risk. Even if they came good, the squad would riot and demand massive increases.

OK, this isn't a surprise but equally I hope the club have a good case if people question this.

The issue is (I get the idea of being patient with some players/ waiting to January or next summer) but this is a pivotal season - if we fall further away from the top 4 than to it then again the implications this has on the club financially are definitely going to make things more difficult.

Not to mention again, the further we fall away the harder it makes it to make up the ground. I genuinely don’t think those guys are going to get the 20-30 odd goal contributions extra most would expect from a reasonable level of CF.

The wage structure is one imposed by the clubs owners so ultimately if we don’t make progress due to signing players of lower quality or lower pedigree on those wages/not being able to attract the elite players - then it is on them.

On a different note what the fuck are we doing going after Sancho…. when we have so many guys to get rid of maybe 10 off the top of my head at least. This club is bonkers. Like regardless of how Oshimen or Toney would do or what they’d cause - another winger over a number 9 is fucking mindblowing.

Still impossible for me to imagine Sterling and Chilly exiled and chilling at home for 4 months until January. They HAVE to go and play football. Likewise Broja.

Trev, if he doesn’t go, I feel is the only one I could imagine being reintegrated into the team.

The United fan meltdown reactions are more fun than actually signing him and working out where tf he’s going to play.

If it’s a loan I wonder if it’s a buy option or obligation. There are benefits to both. If he surprisingly performs like he did at Dortmund then a low obligation fee benefits us. But if he stinks up the joint we’re on the hook with a player we never even needed. If he performs super well and it’s merely a buy option then United could then just charge us huge money or sell him to the highest bidder.

it will be a huge failure if we don't close VO and sancho, given that both are available to join the team

regarding the players to be sold, we won't have time for everyone

Its not a failure to not do deals that turn out to be bad deals. It is a failure to make a bad deal just to get a player in.

Trevoh Chalobah is drawing some late interest from multiple clubs.

Wolves aware of his situation, and the door isn't entirely shut, but they are not working on it as of 16:00.

Newcastle and Crystal Palace two other teams who have looked at Chalobah this summer.

Not guaranteed Chalobah leaves, but a late exit not ruled out yet.

Speaking of American sports salaries, I don’t think people who only follow UK/European sports really realize just how INSANE they are compared to footballers. These days the top NBA stars are going to be making $60m+ per year. The very top NFL QB’s make well north of $50m per year.

We think these footballers are overpaid, it’s a different ballgame over here in the States.

what I detest most about American pro sports leagues

no relegation

so absolutely SHIT teams can go decades in some cases with just being shit

tens of millions of yanks combined play high school and uni gridiron football and basketball and baseball and real football and ice hockey

so it isnt like they don't have a supply of super athletes to fill up a multi-tier system that has the prospects of moving up

Our options in attack are insane if we get Sancho, midfield filled with top talents, it's really just the triangle bermuda were it's a disgrace, maybe Anselmino will fix this a bit when he comes but still need 2 more quality defenders and a top goalkeeper.
