United need him more and will pay him more. We have the London factor, but like how Palmer is our main man, Olise is practically the same if he goes United. If he comes us, will be very exciting to see but I am sure Olise has been targeting United for a while and while they are in a mess, if they sell their future project to them and pay him massive wages (like Sancho) I think he goes there.

they need to offload some players to buy him

lets see what will happen.

They have about five or six RW and are determined to give Antony minutes. They also need CBs and midfielders. Olise is a luxury for a team that needs positions to be field to put starters on the pitch. Juventus must sell players to buy Greenwood, so United don’t have funds to even fill their needs right now. Nobody is stepping up for Sancho at £40M

It’s best that Chelsea fans don’t get TOO invested or desperate in this Olise chase. Seems as if Chelsea Twitter are all acting as if it’s a done deal. All that’s happened is that ourselves and at least 2 others have asked Palace for permission to speak to him. That’s the easy part. The tough job is convincing him to choose our project.

Tbh, I think United are in a more desperate situation so I could see them offering significantly more in wages to him than we will under Clearlake. We don’t really offer those monster wages anymore. It’s super long contracts with “modest” wages by today’s standards.

Perhaps the fact that we tried hard for him last summer will be the decisive advantage for us. Shows that the club really want and value him.

But what happens if we offer him let’s say £120-150k per week and United/City/Arse/Liverpool offer him £200-250k per week? Double the wages and UCL football feels like it would be super hard to turn down.

Utd might not be offering out fat contracts under new ownership. Doubt Arsenal or Liverpool will go crazy on salary.

If City go in for him obviously it should just all be over, he'd be amazing for them and they would happily chuck him £250k pw.

He’s the closest thing to Mahrez there is. So if City decide to move for him you’re right, it’s over.

If you took the reality of injury records out of that team it would certainly look like a side that could play some damn good football.
