ye if cant be here for at least 5 years we dont want him 🙄

when did we became so big and entitled that we are saying no to 1 or 2 years to one of the best players of this generation.

one or two years that blows out our FFP ledger is not worth it

plus we have no CL to offer and zero guarantees we get it this season (even with Mbappe as bringing him in means we well fucked in terms of adding other players of high quality at vital positions)

sorry, I am never going to advocate a 'short term potential glory/fanboi/fangurl fappening' at the expense of burning it down in terms of a longer term event horizon predicated upon a linear upward build curve

This is what winds me up to no end, when we go for players the value doubles, when someone wants our players it’s halved, at least.

Twitter reporting Brighton want £70m + Levi or £100m, if Levi was at Brighton, can you imagine the quote price? Easily £75m+

Conor quoted at £35m, £40m rejected in Jan, why would we accept it?

70m + levi is a joke, just leave this fucker at Brighton and get the lad from Southampton, i personally believe we should get a more experienced older DM just to get Santos up to speed in the PL, then have Enzo and Santos as a pairing but that's just me.

🥲😭

the largest offer I saw for CHO from Bayern that was fully legit in terms of sourcing was £40m

but even 'only' £40m is still a shit tonne more than £8m

I really thought we could now get £15-20m for him from another English side

Kylian Mbappé: Al-Hilal submit world-record €300m bid for PSG forward

  • Saudi Arabian club open to having Mbappé for only one season
  • PSG want to sell France international unless he extends contract

https://www.theguardian.com/football/2023/jul/24/kylian-mbappe-al-hilal-world-record-300m-bid-psg-saudi-arabia

The Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal have submitted a world-record bid for Kylian Mbappé, understood to be worth €300m (£259m), and are willing to have the forward for only one season if that is what is takes to get the deal done.

The move comes after Paris Saint-Germain left Mbappé out of their squad for their pre-season tour of Japan, determined to sell him unless he signs a new contract. PSG will accept Al-Hilal’s offer but there have been no talks between Al-Hilal and Mbappé, and PSG remain convinced the 24-year-old has agreed terms to join Real Madrid on a free transfer next summer.

Al-Hilal will try to tempt Mbappé with a world-record salary and, mindful that it may suit him to come for only one season, are open to a deal that – even by recent Saudi Pro League standards – would destroy football’s financial norms. Al-Hilal offered Lionel Messi more than £350m a year to join from PSG but the Argentina forward opted to move to Inter Miami.

It emerged in June that Mbappé had presented a formal letter to PSG, informing them he would not to take up the option of a one-year contract extension next summer. The club’s president, Nasser al-Khelaifi, said this month: “If Kylian wants to stay, we want him to stay. But he needs to sign a new contract. We don’t want to lose the best player in the world for free; we can’t do that.” Mbappé joined PSG from Monaco in 2018 for £166m.

Saudi Pro League clubs have been spending huge sums this summer to sign players from Europe. Al-Hilal are one of four teams in the country owned by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, which has majority ownership of Newcastle United, and have signed Rúben Neves, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Kalidou Koulibaly. They are are also closing on deals to buy the forwards Malcom and Aleksandar Mitrovic from Zenit St Petersburg and Fulham respectively.

Mbappé had appeared close to joining Real Madrid last summer before renewing his deal in Paris. The world-record fee is the €222m Barcelona received from PSG for Neymar in 2017. The Brazil forward’s contract is due to expire in June 2025.

Manchester United are not negotiating for Mbappé, with their focus remaining on Rasmus Højlund of Atalanta.

Santos is nowhere near ready to start, the hype train around this guy is ridiculous.

If I was Caicedo I’d be refusing to show up to training and extremely angry at Brighton for refusing to let him leave TWICE now when huge bids have gone in for him. It’s especially annoying because he was a good lad after they blocked him going to Arse in January. He came back into the team, got his head down, performed professionally at a top level, and never kicked up a fuss that his big moved never happened. And that’s probably because the rumors of an agreement with the club that they’d allow him to go in the summer are true.

We’ve got 3 weeks until Liverpool and we’ve only got ONE midfielder that is Chelsea first XI quality in our whole squad. Casadei and Santos are future stars but they’re nowhere near good enough yet to play against world class opponents. And if we had to start the season with a Enzo + Gallagher midfield 2 it would be a disgrace.

I hope he does after the 80m+ bid we will submit in a few days. Because this is our limit it seems and if a deal cant be agreed then, Caicedo has to show he really wants the move.

Just red that Brighton has threatened to sue one of polish celeb-pundits at least twice, because he claimed that it was their physio's fault that Moder was out due to injury for so long. What's up with this club 🙄

They have become so cocky and arrogant after getting to EL, nothing seen like that tbh. I mean Union Berlin will play Champions League next season and they just act as normal. Brighton think they are a big club now lol

i will start giving a shit about money and ffp when we stop bringing in players for crazy fees like cucurella, koulibaly and even mudryk.

until then we should always aim and buy the best available players.

Right that makes sense now, when you put it like that 250+ is a bargain then eh 🤷🤦

People say Brighton this, Brighton that... But what were our offers and why they go so slow? They said 100m, we started with 70m. Everything suggest 80-85m will do it. We are not there yet after a couple of months of negotiations. United started with 40m for Mount 2 weeks later deal agreed with 4th offer worth 60m. Why we take so much time?

Didn't Ornstein say we initially offered 60m + add ons and then a little over 70m + add ons? Assuming the recent offer was 75+5?
