You mention Fernandinho and Henderson but neither of which are utter liabilities off the ball as Jorginho is. If one of Kante or Kovacic aren't at 110%, we are vulnerable in midfield.

I don't agree with Jorginho being a complete liability off the ball.

His lack of pace can leave us exposed in an open position but ultimately something higher up the pitch has gone wrong first to leave us in that situation or we're chasing a game which is leaving us stretched and exposed anyway.

The rest of his defensive contributions are mostly very good. He reads the game very well and regularly intercepts and recovers balls as a result which stamps anything out before it can even start and he's also an important trigger and leader when we press.

As above, my preference this summer would be to keep all of Kante, Kova and Jorginho and add Rice or Tchouameni to that group. Gallagher and Mount in the squad too would allow Tuchel to use a midfield three if he wanted to, with the latter two being able to offer that more attack minded option.

If we are keeping Kante, Kova, and Jorginho I don't think Gallagher will have a place in the team. One of Rice or Tchouameni is imminent (thinking it will be the former). That is 4 CMs for two positions. 5 Including Gallagher.

I'm still not sure if Tuchel outright wants to make the 4231 or 433 a priority next season ahead of the 343. 6 midfielders, all of which are established first teamers now, competing for 3 spots. That isn't going to bold well. Not even City or Liverpool have this much quality in depth in midfield.

Come to think of it, I take that back.

Kante, Kova, Jorginho, Rice/Tchouameni and Gallagher could work.

Former player suggests £25m defender is perfect for Chelsea, the Blues have reportedly scouted him already

Chelsea

Chelsea

Former Torino defender Ezio Ross has named Chelsea as one of the ideal next destinations for Gleison Bremer.

Speaking to TuttoJuve, Ross suggested that Stamford Bridge could house Bremer extremely well if he ever fancied a move to the Premier League.

Why is Gleison grabbing all the attention?

It probably won’t be long before the current Torino centre-back heads over to England.

His performances for the Serie A side have certainly been attracting interest from British shores, as well as those stationed across Europe.

Newcastle United reportedly made a £25m (Corriere Granata) offer to sign the 24-year-old last month, but saw their advances rejected.

Instead, Torino confirmed that Bremer had signed a new deal, keeping him in Turin until at least 2024.

Of course, this timeline could be hindered if another, arguably even bigger club that Newcastle come wading in with the cash.

Perhaps Juventus for example, who have been linked to the Brazilian already this season.

However, Ross adamantly advised Bremer to look past the Old Lady and link up with a new, younger model.

“He is a very good defender. (Torino coach Ivan) Juric has improved him considerably. Only compliments!” he said.

“Bremer is not for Juve; he’s for Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester, Inter!”

Bremer in blue?

It is perhaps no surprise that Chelsea make it onto the list.

After all, they reportedly scouted Bremer in December, eager to locate replacements for one of their potentially departing defenders.

Not much has been mentioned since about a possible switch to South West London.

Such conversations shouldn’t be ruled out over the summer, as the Blues will most likely be in the market for another centre-half.

There remains a strong chance that at least one of Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen or Cesar Azpilicueta shall wave farewell to Cobham and all its assets.

Maybe then Ross’ hopes for Bremer will come true.

Or he was previously being overrated. Sadly, I think that is the case.

That performance Vs Liverpool was decent but the most memorable moment was a fluke and the display against England, which drew rave reviews, was an exercise in absolute ordinariness. Seldom have I seen so unspectacular a showing so lavishly praised.

This rumour is extremely stubborn. Despise the guy as a player. Absolutely useless.

Eder is a very fitting name for him tho. Eder is also the name an old bumbling carpenter who befriends a goblin in an incredibly lame German children's book. Both Eders are roughly equally good centrebacks.

Tuchel planning to include 18-year-old in his plans for Chelsea next season

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel planning a big role for Levi Colwill next season

According to Goal (h/t Football. London), impressed with the performances of Levi Colwill, Chelsea are planning to shape their transfer approach keeping the youngster’s role in mind.

Levi Colwill has impressed one and all with a series of impressive showings on loan at Huddersfield Town. He has appeared in 21 matches for the Championship team and has grabbed Thomas Tuchel’s attention with his performances.

The Blues boss is seemingly interested in making the teenager a part of the Chelsea setup for next season. The youngster has shown that he has the required skills and the onus is on the German tactician to see the player further his development.

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel planning a big role for Levi Colwill next season.

That news comes at a moment when Marina Granovskaia’s board still hasn’t found a way to resolve the futures of the club’s top defenders – Andreas Christensen, César Azpilicueta and Antonio Rüdiger. The trio’s contracts expire in the summer and as of yet, there is no news regarding an agreement being reached pertaining to an extension.

The West London board needs to have a top-notch plan going into the summer transfer window. Whatever the project might be, Levi Colwill’s promotion to the senior setup appears to be on the cards.

Good approach from our board?

In the January transfer window, our team’s transfer approach was to get a left-back. However, our board have only managed to bring Kenedy from Flamengo as the backup, a rather underwhelming decision. Our board still has to focus on securing a quality reinforcement who can challenge Ben Chilwell. The front line might also need reinforcements, considering our strikers’ struggles.

So, we might not have a large budget to spend on central defenders. That’s why Levi Colwill’s promotion to the first team can become a solution to many problems. He has shown good skills playing in the left centre-back position in a three-person backline.

While promoting the youngster is well and good, it will not do if the club and the fans apply unfair pressure on him to impress from the word go. Still just 18, he must be allowed to grow at a steady pace and fulfil his potential.

Master CB list

it really is quite remarkable how many CB's are in our fold and especially the number (far more than any other position, no other position is remotely close) have ben linked to us

all our current ones of import in the fold ATM

Antonio Rüdiger (we simply must renew, EOS)
Andreas Christensen   (likely gone)
Trevoh Chalobah
César Azpilicueta  (looking like he is leaving)
Malang Sarr   (needs to GO)
Thiago Silva  (next season is very likely his last with us, oh how I wish he was 10 years younger!)
Levi Colwill (massive potential, he MIGHT make first team next season)
Xavier Mbuyamba (nowhere near ready yet)

and most (not all, see further on, plus some I simply left out as they are not good enough) the ones we have been linked to in the past 12 months (I did NOT list ones now off the board due to statements they are NOT coming, they are staying at their current club, like Marquinhos, Bastoni, etc, nor did I list massively over priced dross like Éder Militão, an absolute pure rubbish rumour)

listed by T-Markt valuation

bold are the ones I would be most in favour with

Matthijs de Ligt
Milan Skriniar
Jules Koundé

Pau Torres
José María Giménez
Aymeric Laporte
Kalidou Koulibaly   (only for a fair fee, as he is 30yo, so this is very unlikely)
Edmond Tapsoba
Wesley Fofana
Presnel Kimpembe
Ronald Araújo
Jurrien Timber (If he was 7, 8 cms taller I would be all in, but he is only 1.79m, and not as strong as Kounde)
Sven Botman
Robin Le Normand
Gianluca Mancini
Evan Ndicka
Merih Demiral
Josko Gvardiol
Maxence Lacroix
Bremer
Nico Schlotterbeck
Adam Webster
(I bet this shocks some that I bolded him, lol, but he strikes me like a Cahill type, with more pace, and I loved Cahill in his prime, was a great servant for years, IMHO he is a better CB now than the immensely overrated and cuntish slabhead)
Attila Szalai
Sebastian Walukiewicz

There's one player in particular who I think we should be going ALL out for..

Jude Bellingham.

He is going to be one of the best English midfielders of all time and he already shows signs of elite mentality.

Whichever big club gets him in their team after Dortmund... are going to be fighting for trophies the whole time he plays for them.. thats for sure.

Bellingham has 3 years left, good luck trying to get him this summer.
