Think Haaland is impossible. This is the same club that decided to keep Lewandowski in his final year of the contract rather than sell him to Bayern and then let him go to them for free after that.

True, but maybe that was out of principal. Taking a stand against a domestic rival trying to take their best player. Maybe it’ll be easier to take from a foreign club? Especially during pandemic affected times.

Honestly, we’re kind of fucked here in terms of options. The irony of our club being in its best position and potential in like a decade and there are no strikers available. 😂😂😂

True but at the same time, it's never straightforward to complete big money transfers, even more so while we're in this pandemic.

I agree. Not to mention all International tournaments going on as well.

Did you see what they did last Summer to Utd?

I think the only way Haaland comes to us is, if we offer a player in return (CHO is like someone they're keen on) to give them some incentive.

But they have also maintained a pretty strong stance over not selling Haaland, even before they secured Champions League football next season. Just like with some other players in Germany that have release clause (think Leipzig not selling Werner a season before his release clause activated for example), clubs don't seem to really push to sell their players before the clause comes into play. Also, don't think Dortmund want to leave themselves short by selling Haaland now. They have more chance to achieve something next season and make up for the price difference through Top 4 finish when his fee will be lower. There also doesn't seem to be any noise from Haaland or Raiola about leaving this summer.

Can always go for Haaland next year...

But Dortmund's stance is pretty clear and all the Chelsea journalists have also said Haaland won't be sold this summer. Dortmund more inclined/prepared to let Sancho go this summer.

The only reason they want CHO is because they are prepared to sell Sancho this summer.

Tbf, they gave Man United a clear valuation for Sancho and they fucked about all summer trying to get a discount. If they had just payed what was asked Sancho would’ve been in a red shirt already.

We have to at least try here. If they say no they say no.

I think hes gonna do another season at Paris then leave on a free in all honesty to go to one of Madrid/Barca. He has one year left on his deal and personally I think he wants to go to Spain as has been talked about for ages, mainly Madrid when Zizou was there but Barca will have seem him up close and personal a few months ago and he was electric against them also.

It's another possible dilemma.

Both Mbappe and Haaland may be available next summer and whilst it would be fierce competition, the club will surely want to make a play for both.

The only chance we really have is to be as competitive as possible again next season in England and Europe, hopefully winning something again. But to aid this we could really do with strengthening, but do you then spend big on an attacker this summer or wait for the next?

It's always going to be difficult going up against Real Madrid and Barcelona in the transfer market but this could be a really important season for both. They are both debt ridden and in need of a rebuild. I wonder whether Haaland and Mbappe are able to look through the glamour and history of both and instead look elsewhere. A strong season next year could really put us in a position to make a strong claim for one of them.

That would still work in our favour. Dortmund are a selling club after all, so if teams pay up, Haaland & Sancho will leave.

We've been known to do exactly the same. So many rumours going around about a clause and so, but if Dortmund say £125m+, we're out.

Think the fact the fact they are already maintaining a strong stance over Haaland is the reason why no one has bothered to really go for him. Am sure clubs, not just us, would have tried testing the waters long ago.

They will let one go this summer, not both. And Sancho is the one they are willing to sell this summer.

The idea isn't necessarily bad but for those wanting us to push the boat out for Haaland, let's not forget that we ourselves asked Hazard to stay for another season (2018/19) when we could have sold him a year earlier to Real Madrid to get more money. Granted, he didn't have a release clause like Haaland does with his contract but the situation was the same like the latter now. Club got the player to stay for another season despite the risk of getting less money for him.

It's a great point. They may lose a player or two this summer so may view keeping Haaland as even more vital for making sure they qualify for the Champions League again. That could well cover the £40m or so they may get as extra this summer.

Exactly. Will also help to challenge for the Bundesliga (Bayern have a new manager. So god knows what will happen there), go as far as possible in the Champions League (get as much money as possible) and maybe win the DFB Pokal again (more sporting success).

On top of that, from Haaland's perspective, staying another year at Dortmund wouldn't necessarily be bad for his development either since he's still only 20 years old and come next summer, he'll have more European clubs to choose from compared to this summer. And with clubs having to pay less transfer fee then, Haaland and Raiola can look to get more personal money from the signing-on fee and agent fee. He can also start a bidding war to see which club will offer him the highest salary.

Matt Law was saying in his article the other day if we spend 150m+ on Haaland this summer, it'll take up almost our entire transfer budget. And that's on transfer fee alone.
