Chelsea Transfers

Chelsea need a strong transfer summer with the right players  like 2014/15 to make to challenge for the title .

Summer 2014   we bought two people who largely won our title - Diego Costa  and Fabregas .

Repeat .

They were signed really early too. Lining up targets and signing them early is something we just can't seem to do.

Welp. Looks like it’s Haaland or bust, then.

Kane was always impossible, Lukaku is happy being the king in Italy where he’s the main man and free of the English media criticizing him. We can now either make Dortmund an offer they can’t refuse (£150m now I think they’d reluctantly sell rather than for his small release clause next summer) or we go the Sancho route, play Havertz up top, and extend Giroud for another year.

Our options are even more threadbare now.

Think Haaland is impossible. This is the same club that decided to keep Lewandowski in his final year of the contract rather than sell him to Bayern and then let him go to them for free after that.

Still.

It's not exactly difficult to wrap up a target when a fee is there in writing. Haggling has been the issue for a host of targets in recent years and look what we've ended up with. Baka, Emerson and Zappacosta are supposedly going this Summer for 40m loss.

One plus I read over the past few days is, those days are seemingly over. Tuchel wants his first choices or nothing.

True but at the same time, it's never straightforward to complete big money transfers, even more so while we're in this pandemic.

True, but maybe that was out of principal. Taking a stand against a domestic rival trying to take their best player. Maybe it’ll be easier to take from a foreign club? Especially during pandemic affected times.

Honestly, we’re kind of fucked here in terms of options. The irony of our club being in its best position and potential in like a decade and there are no strikers available. 😂😂😂

I agree. Not to mention all International tournaments going on as well.

Did you see what they did last Summer to Utd?

I think the only way Haaland comes to us is, if we offer a player in return (CHO is like someone they're keen on) to give them some incentive.

But they have also maintained a pretty strong stance over not selling Haaland, even before they secured Champions League football next season. Just like with some other players in Germany that have release clause (think Leipzig not selling Werner a season before his release clause activated for example), clubs don't seem to really push to sell their players before the clause comes into play. Also, don't think Dortmund want to leave themselves short by selling Haaland now. They have more chance to achieve something next season and make up for the price difference through Top 4 finish when his fee will be lower. There also doesn't seem to be any noise from Haaland or Raiola about leaving this summer.

Can always go for Haaland next year...

But Dortmund's stance is pretty clear and all the Chelsea journalists have also said Haaland won't be sold this summer. Dortmund more inclined/prepared to let Sancho go this summer.
