Joe Cool 388
I would say with his personality he would not be scared to lay into anyone if needed. Our lack of performing players on the wings has been a concern for a long while now, probably since the days of Robben and Duff. I hope we do get Schweinsteiger, but I guess it will be a bit hard to do so with just 10 million... so we will probably have to sell someone... Malouda can deffo fuckoff. As for Scolari... I'm really becoming a big unsure of him. Fortress Stamford Bridge has now turned into a castle made of cheese... now teams come having a chance to snatch a draw or win... instead of not getting humiliated. BlueLion. 21,491
Easy to say that in hindsight, but he had been plagued by injuries by the time he left. Edited December 2, 2008 by BlueLion

Fulham Broadway 17,320
Does the loss of Clarke have anything to do with the shaky defence, players puffing after 60 minutes , yet conversly West Ham s defence and fitness levels have inreased and they havent conceded for 3 games ?? answers on a postcard.... warnie_666 1,081
Time and again I have been repeating this. His tactics are dour ad predictable. When West Ham are playing with two defensive midfielders, Scolari removes ballack and still chooses to keep our defensive midfielder. Why on earth do we need him when the other team decides to defend? Its high time Scolari thinks out of the box, may be play with 3 defenders and go for long balls after long balls with ballack and drogba in the box. His tactics are just tooo predictable. Play drogba first and then remove a midfielder and play kalou. this has been a norm. And he waits too long to do that.
BlueLion. 21,491
And yet when Mikel went off, we lost all sense of balance in the midfield.
Laylabelle 9,535
Thats the annoying thing, when Jose made changes them came on and boom impact but his just dont..okay Drogba did but the rest..its a bit weird Least he'd admitted we had a prob dont being all lalala everythings fine and dandy etc Time to try Analka and Drogba together it works!! True_Blue 469
I just wait for Essien and Riccy to come back....then we are safe in the defence, safe in the midfield and with Drogba and Anelka up front we are going to do great.Hopefully we can hold on long enough until they are back. Joe Cool 388
My fucking god, what the hell does it take to play a simple 4-4-2??? No excuse this time that Drogba was unfit. He was a very available option and yet Scolari decides to play this shitty 4-5-1. How long will it take for him to realize that this shit doesn't work at home??? He's obviously not a fan of Drogba and if that's so, he might as well kiss his ass goodbye because Drogba is a very important player for our team, especially to break down those tough defenses that we play at home. These bullshit tactics are starting to really annoy me and hopefully Scolari will have learned by now
Fulham Broadway 17,320
Still letting Deco off the hook with his possession loss, and wasteful balls. Scolari is becoming BIG PhiLiabilty, and patience will be lost upstairs soonish, with his days numbered. Man Utd have three home games in hand, will means us being 2pts behind them in third because its unlikely theyll drop points against Fulham, Wigan and Boro. And we still have to play then so could be more then 2 :S God defo needs to get it sorted and tear up at his defence! If we had let one in like that with Jose he'd gone bloody mental and made sure someone was on the posts and yet second time we've done that and its cost us both times We defo lost a huge help when we let Clarke go And also annoying..the team we used Thurs worked so why rotate? so much!It didnt work for Rafa and its not working for us!! Aesthetic Relic 301
Whoever we have working on set pieces in training seriously needs to consider the option of having someone on the post(s). A few times this season I've picked up on this when we've conceded goals from corners especially. Bordeaux was another game when we lost a goal from a corner with the same problem. Theres been a few others as I can remember posting in the match thread at the time. If I can see this then surely Scolaris backroom team have picked up on it. If not they need a good slap. Its costing us points.

Laylabelle 9,535
Bleh!!Get working on fucking set piece defending!!!! We have yet to beat a top side and yet to win a derby! I think honestly as well keeping Stevie Clarke would've helped!!He knew what he was doing! But why again so long with the subs?!That goal was coming for ages and one from us clearly wasnt End of the season and he's gone I reckon Edited January 3, 2009 by Laylabelle
BlueLion. 21,491
One thing that bugs me about Scolari is not perhaps his choice of substitutions, but his timing. Yesterday, it was clearly evident that Southend would put us under pressure in the last few minutes, but instead of bringing on a midfielder or defender he brings on a winger and a striker for 6 minutes! What effect can that have on a game?

Totally agree every time Scolari seems to make a sub he always makes them at the wrong time or ineffective subs that do not seem to help us in the game, he needs to get smarter with them, or we need Clark back to help out around the bridge. We need to face up to the fact Clarke and Mourinho wont be coming back -and the club has fucked up royally by getting rid. Abramovich has paid the price for wanting -''more exciting football''. Why oh why are we weakening the squad by offloading Bridge at this juncture ?? Scolari seems quite unconcerned in press conferences -all the ''oh well'' bollocks and ''This is football''. Rapidly losing faith that he cares at all....
