Kieran. 6,317
Wonder what Ballack was thinking during the CL final. He must have been thrilled for his friends and ex-teammates, but sad for himself. Poor Michael.
Popular Post! Superblue 6,372 Posted June 13, 2012 Popular Post! Share Posted June 13, 2012 Watched the 'legends' programme tonight on Chelsea TV with Michael Ballack. Fantastic player and man.He got a lot of stick from the media who felt he was a flop whilst at Chelsea but only true fans who watched him every week could see the influence and presence he had on the pitch. IMO it is no coincidence that we really struggled two years ago after he left, particularly coupled with Drogba and Lampard injured for long periods. He's always shown massive respect to the club and spoke warmly of us, despite surely having misgivings about how he was discarded from the club.Thank you Michael :tophat: Blue Armour, didierforever, Joker10 and 5 others

Spike 12,049
Ballack was one of the reasons Lamps scored so many goals and assists. He gave up the attacking side of his game to stabilize the midfield and allow Lamps do what he does best. And don't forget he was probably even better at attacking than Lamps. That Manchester United game at Old Trafford being the biggest example. The Skipper

Superblue 6,372
For a period during that season we were without Lamps, Terry and Drogba. He was captain for a run of games and you really saw him thrive on the responsibility, as he literally carried the team for a few games.
