Metalwood Studio Craft a Golf adidas Gazelle

https://www.sneakerfreaker.com/releases/metalwood-studio-golf-adidas-gazelle-price-buy-release-date/

5ec53c16a8e5a1fb7c2cd404a9294515c94c18f0

Metalwood Studio, a premium golf brand based in LA, are crashing into the terrace trend with a vintage, golf-inspired spin on the adidas Gazelle.

Borne from an appreciation for the 90s-2000s golf aesthetic, which includes ‘the baggiest, frumpiest shit’, Metalwood Studio craft vintage-inspired clothing, accessories and golf equipment that is geared towards streetwear. Therefore, a collaborative project with adidas on the Gazelle is a logical next step for the brand’s domination of the green.

The design will have you sneaking up behind competition on the 18th hole, with a brown camo pattern covering the base. Black then takes over, coming through on grass-like overlays on the T-toe and eyelets, a golf-ball-like tongue, and smooth leather for the Three stripes and heel. The midsole on the other hand is a translucent brown that segues nicely down to the black sole. Gold Metalwood branding also hits the lateral side, and even though we can’t fully see it, presumably the tongue as well. It’s uncertain at this point whether the sole will be changed from the OG at all to suit the green or if there will be any other performance changes.

There’s no other information so far on the Metalwood Studio x adidas Gazelle, so stay locked for further release details.

ASICS’ Paris Fashion Week Pop-Up Debuted Some Heater Collaborations

https://www.sneakerfreaker.com/news/asics-paris-fashion-week-pop-up-collaborations-price-buy-reelase-date/

c142d1d348185c75a29f55f1334e27f2552d9794

Sneaker Freaker is currently on the ground at Paris Fashion Week, and although it’s only day two, a lot has gone down! Louis Vuitton debuted a small stack of sneaks, AURALEE exuded opulence, and now ASICS have debuted a plethora of upcoming heater colabs. Hosting an event in Paris for Friends and Family, the Japanese brand has teamed up with an array of their top-tier collaborators to reimagine fan-favourite silhouettes, plus a select few newer models in fresh GR builds.

Kicking things off at the F&F ASICS PFW pop-up is a collaborative release from Melbourne-based UP THERE store! The Flinders Lane boutique retailer, who have collaborated with ASICS on a number of occasions, opted for the outdoor-geared GEL-Terrain, which comes equipped with a crisp purple colourway and additional S-Biner on the laces. Another heavy-hitter collaboration comes in the form of Cecilie Bahnsen, who made recent waves thanks to the designer's hyper feminine sneaker style. For her latest collaboration, the Copenhagen designer chose the GEL-QUANTUM 360 VIII silhouette, altering the model to rock a sandal-esque design.

Next up, ASICS are once again joining forces with Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, who has visited the Archisite ORU model for an abstract build. The entire upper is ensconced in a translucent shroud, with additional Tiger Stripe details throughout. Another major highlight of the pop-up comes from Japanese brand Doublet, run by designer Masayuki Ino, as they revealed their anticipated GEL-KAYANO 20 collaboration. While this pair isn’t expected to be released at the pop-up, the brand created a number of custom GEL-NIMBUS 10.1s, which is a new member of the ASICS Sportstyle family. Rounding out the experience is the plethora of GR editions that made a debut, including new colourways of the GEL-QUANTUM 360 VIII and GT-2160.

Releases for the collaborations will go down at the 7 Rue Froissart pop-up between June 20 and June 22. Kicking things off, the Cecilie Bahnsen x ASICS GEL-QUANTUM 360 VIII will launch on June 20 with a wider release on August 8. Kengo Kuma’s ASICS Archisite ORU will land on June 21, with Doublet’s custom GEL-NIMBUS 10.1s landing on June 22. Launching that same day is UP THERE’s GEL-Terrain, with the retailer holding an early release at their Melbourne store on June 21 and a wider release to follow on June 22.

Wales Bonner Ain’t Done With adidas Just Yet!

https://www.sneakerfreaker.com/releases/wales-bonner-adidas-spring-summer-2025-price-buy-release-date/

eGpGZS7.jpeg

In the modern-day sneakersphere, one of the most fruitful partnerships has been between British-based brand Wales Bonner and adidas. Through this collaborative linkup, which has spanned almost five years, they’ve worked on a plethora of models spanning the SL72 to the Japan and most notably the Samba. Every season, Wales Bonner debuts a fresh batch of colabs, almost always following different themes.

Spring/Summer 2025 was no different to previous, and Wales Bonner and adidas looked to Trefoil icons for this season’s offering. The highlight of the show, was of course, the sequin-adorned iterations that give off a Gazelle vibe. They came correct with black sparkly uppers, iced out midsoles and brown finishings, making for an eye-catching addition to the catalogue. This won’t be the first time this pair have gone the shiny route, as last year saw the pair drop their metallic silver Sambas. Elsewhere in the SS25 offering, Wales Bonner has also reinvented the Shelltoe in a premium suede-adorned iteration.

No release dates have been announced for the latest from Wales Bonner x adidas, but stay locked to Sneaker Freaker to keep updated.

Introducing
The new Dark Blue TAG Heuer Monaco Skeleton Chronograph
Black titanium over a dark blue dial, ready for the 2024 Monaco GP.

https://monochrome-watches.com/tag-heuer-monaco-skeleton-chronograph-black-dlc-titanium-dark-blue-dial-cbl2188-ft6261-introducing-specs-price/

TAG-Heuer-Monaco-Skeleton-Chronograph-Bl

Long associated with motorsport, TAG Heuer keeps maintaining its racing heritage with its emblematic Carrera and Monaco collections. Born in 1969 and one of the most symbolic chronograph watches in modern history, the latter has been a canvas for innovation in recent years, including a complex and bold split-seconds version a few months ago. With the 2024 Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix just around the corner, and without much surprise, TAG Heuer treats with a new iteration of its modern Monaco Skeleton Chronograph, now in dark blue with a black DLC titanium case.

TAG-Heuer-Monaco-Skeleton-Chronograph-Bl

TAG-Heuer-Monaco-Skeleton-Chronograph-Bl

Released exactly a year ago, during the 2023 Monaco GP, the Monaco Skeleton Chronograph was the first attempt in a very long time of TAG Heuer to bring an openworked version of its emblematic squared chronograph, at least in the classic collection. Now joined by the far more complex, even bolder and pricier rattrapante edition, the Monaco Skeleton represents the futuristic side of the collection – rest assured, the all-time classic “Steve McQueen” Calibre 11 Monaco is still available if you’re into the historical look.

TAG-Heuer-Monaco-Skeleton-Chronograph-Bl

While the overall design of the case is identical to all the classic models in the lineup, the 39mm x 39mm square is here done in sandblasted grade 2 titanium. Considering the 15mm thickness and the 47.4mm length, the Monaco is a watch with a certain presence and the use of lightweight titanium is certainly helping in this context. For this new edition, the case has been coated in black DLC, including the crown (at 3 o’clock) and the rectangular pushers. The watch retains its classic bevelled sapphire crystal on top and a comfortable 100m water-resistance.

The main evolution compared to the 3 inaugural editions of 2023 is the dial, which is now available in a nice dark blue tone. Despite the fashion rule that says that “black and blue don’t go together” the result of this combination of colour is here pretty appealing. Offering a glimpse of the mechanics underneath (but not too much to mess up with the legibility), the graphic and geometric dial is composed of a sandblasted dark blue base, with an opaline blue module on top incorporating the minute track and sub-dials. White carved indexes with Super-LumiNova add a graphic touch day and night. A touch of yellow has been added to all hands linked to the chronograph and the date is displayed thanks to an openworked disc over a white background.

Under the sapphire caseback is the in-house, integrated automatic Calibre Heuer 02 (TH20-00), with 80h power reserve and 4Hz frequency, and a column-wheel and vertical clutch architecture. The back reveals rhodium-plated bridges, a blackened rotor and touches of yellow on the column wheel and printings.

Worn on a dark blue embossed calfskin and rubber strap, with DLC titanium folding clasp, this new dark blue edition of the TAG Heuer Monaco Skeleton Chronograph is available now as part of the permanent collection and priced at CHF 11,000, EUR 11,400 or USD 11,250. Brain Dead’s adidas Unstructured Stan Smith Is Dropping Only In London For Wimbledon

Re-tooled to 1970s footwear aesthetics.

https://sneakernews.com/2024/07/03/braindead-adidas-stan-smith-unstructured/

braindead-adidas-stan-smith-unstructured

In 1972, American tennis star Stan Smith won the Wimbledon Gentlemen Singles Championship in white adidas tennis shoes, a model that would be re-branded with his signature later that decade. Now over fifty years later, the adidas Stan Smith remains an integral symbol of footwear history, aging like a fine wine throughout countless eras of coming and going fashion trends.

With this year’s Wimbledon Championship tourney in full swing, Brain Dead and adidas have reconvened on a collaborative Stan Smith in honor of the athlete’s greatest achievement. The shoes have been “unstructured” so as to evoke typical 1970s footwear, as brown, supple cow leather replaces the typical mesh padding we see today. The sidewalls and base conform to Wimbledon’s strict dress code in white, made unique by a perforated Brain Dead logo at the quarter in lieu of traditional stripes. Completing the design, a grass-inspired fabric heel is matched by co-branded green and white laces, evoking a timeless Stan Smith colorway and Wimbledon’s rare grass courts in one stroke.

According to Brain Dead, the shoes are “very limited” and will release exclusively in-person on July 6th at Dover Street Market London and the brand’s tennis event at Cumberland Lawn Tennis Club on July 7th.

OH NO AUTOMATIC

https://www.paulinwatches.com/products/oh-no-automatic-blue

DSCF2127_OHNO_Modul_Pair_dd343143-b11e-4

The OH no Modul is a collaboration between Paulin and the San Jose type foundry OH no. This partnership was born out of our mutual love of typography and our particular fondness for the font Obviously, used across Paulin’s identity. The watch was launched in California as part of San Francisco’s Wind Up Watch Fair.

The expressive dial design references California’s design history, with a colour palette that takes cues from local design icons Sister Corita Kent and Saul Bass. In contrast to the uniform geometry of the original Modul, the dial features OH no’s free-form bespoke numerals. Their interlocking layout playfully tests legibility, with exaggerated emphasis on the 12, 3, 6 and 9. You can read more about OH no and the design process behind the collaboration here.

The watch is powered by the reliable Swiss-made La Joux-Perret G101, visible through an exhibition caseback. The case diameter is 39mm, which works for almost every wrist size, and at 9.7mm thick with a vintage-style Hesalite box-crystal and a pronounced crown, it’s a very comfortable wear.

Brain Dead Aren't Done with the adidas Stan Smith

https://www.sneakerfreaker.com/releases/brain-dead-adidas-stan-smith-price-buy-release-date-2024/

9c69d940dcf382fc3df6d186a94e44c7a5615053

Brain Dead are keeping the Stan Smiths coming. After revealing two colourways earlier this week, we can now expect baby blue and cream versions to arrive alongside the previously seen pink and green iterations. Check out the extra colourways here and stay tuned for more info.

https://www.instagram.com/p/C_QhGJboMsQ/?utm_source=ig_embed

Brain Dead, the quirky kings of Los Angeles streetwear, have forged a fruitful collaboration with adidas this year. They kicked off their partnership with a bowling shoe, gifting it as a friends and family release first, and then conducting a limited launch. Since then, Team Trefoil and the Kyle Ng-led imprint have put their focus towards the Stan Smith. They’ve dropped hadnful so far, with one being an ultra-rare exclusive for Sound and Fury festival. Now, Brain Dead have announced they’ll be launching a double-pack this September.

The two-pack of Brain Dead x adidas Stan Smiths see them take the Raf Simons approach, utilising perforations on the lateral and medial for custom branding. Specialised tongue motifs are also in play, with eccentric colourways made up with either a pink or green, alongside complementary brown midsole. The finishing touch comes through via Brain Dead’s hairy suede on the rear and special two-tone laces.

You can expect the two Brain Dead x adidas Stan Smiths to land on September 7 through the adidas channels.

Reigo and Bauer uses diamond-shaped cladding for angular Toronto house

https://www.dezeen.com/2024/08/30/reigo-and-bauer-diamond-cladding-angular-toronto-house/

reigo-bauer-angular-toronto-house_dezeen

reigo-bauer-angular-toronto-house_dezeen

Local studio Reigo and Bauer has completed a Toronto house clad in diamond-shaped panels that present a "quiet tension of that contrast" between the cladding's decorative and minimalist qualities.

Called Neville Park, the three-level house sits on a narrow lot in an East End Toronto residential neighbourhood. It is characterised by a tall profile with a sharply sloped rooftop and off-set rows of elongated windows framed by black-painted aluminium casing.

According to Toronto-based studio Reigo and Bauer, the brief was to design a well-connected space for a family of two adults and two children and make it comfortable while catering to the client's "contemporary" taste.

The site slopes from the street to the back of the lot where there lies a thick grove of mature trees, whose form Reigo and Bauer said influenced the final slope of the roof.

But the architecture studio said the form is also practical – the slope allowed for the off-set stacking of floors, so that long windows and steep ceilings create a greater sense of internal space for the second-storey bedrooms.

"The slope of the roof was studied to create pleasing internal volumes while still working within the height limits of the zoning," studio founding partner Merike Bauer told Dezeen.

reigo-bauer-angular-toronto-house_dezeen

reigo-bauer-angular-toronto-house_dezeen

"The steeper pitch allowed the upstairs rooms with compact footprints to feel lofty and more spacious."

A practical move that also creates visual interest is the half-barrel cut-out on the entry side of the building to make room for the entry steps that begin at the garage level.

Another vertical cut-out on the side was placed around the door and runs the height of the structure.

The negative space on the envelope also created more vertical planes on that side of the building.

Bay windows were placed on the sides and look out from the face at nearly 45-degree angles to avoid direct lines of sight with the neighbouring house.

The diamond-shaped panels that clad most of the exterior carry through the sharp-angled design language of the house. Made of fibre cement, the panels have a grey tone and a scale-like appearance.

reigo-bauer-angular-toronto-house_dezeen

reigo-bauer-angular-toronto-house_dezeen

According to Bauer, the cladding was chosen because it has both minimalist and decorative qualities.

"The slates provided excellent technical performance, while also representing a very traditional type of roof cladding," said Bauer.

"We're often drawn to traditional materials and methods of construction that can be realized in unconventional applications," she added.

"The diamond shape, for instance, was selected for its decorative nature, yet installed as it is, uniformly over the roof and walls, even the garage door is more minimalist in its first reading. I love the quiet tension of that contrast."

Inside, the angles of the exterior are reflected in curved and faceted ceilings.

The street-facing dining room has windows that run past the ceiling, which has a gap on one side where it meets the wall.

reigo-bauer-angular-toronto-house_dezeen

reigo-bauer-angular-toronto-house_dezeen

reigo-bauer-angular-toronto-house_dezeen

This ceiling plane runs back over the kitchen and to the rear-facing living room, where it curves up to meet with the top of the window panes there, giving the whole primary floor a sloped impression.

The kitchen sits in between the dining and living room and also acts as a passage between the two spaces. To bring in additional light, a series of "pill-shaped" openings were cut between the cabinets on the green-painted wall that runs between the kitchen and the staircase.

More colour was used for the furnishings in the living room, which features a deep-blue Elkin sofa by furniture brand Mobilia. The living room looks out over a fenced backyard.

In the upstairs hallways, angular ceilings and skylights bring in light. The gap seen in the ceiling in the dining room opens up slowly as it leads towards the staircase, creating a double-height space that allows further light to filter downstairs from the skylights. The design gives the upstairs passageway the character of a mezzanine.

reigo-bauer-angular-toronto-house_dezeen

reigo-bauer-angular-toronto-house_dezeen

The centre of the second-storey plan holds bathrooms with doors facing towards the bedrooms on the periphery. Above this central volume, another void has been included between it and the roof plane.

The bedrooms are also characterised by sloped, angular ceilings as they stack within the narrowing roof profile, with the master on the street-facing side and the two smaller children's rooms on the front.

One of the children's bedrooms sits directly under the primary slope, with two stacked windows. The other has a single rear-facing window and a window provided by the vertical cut-out on the southside of the envelope.

Another bathroom was placed on the garage level below grade.

Other recently completed houses in Toronto include one by Partisans with a "pixelated" brick facade and a "raw and unvarnished" prefabricated home.

The photography is by Doublespace Photography.
