Sean Wotherspoon and adidas have partnered on a handful of sneakers with sustainability and eco-friendly materials at the forefront and that doesn’t change on the adidas Gazelle. After teasing photos and giving fans an insight into the process of collaborating on a sneaker, a release date is set for the Sean Wotherspoon x adidas Gazelle.

As a proud vegan, Sean and the 3 Stripes drop the traditional suede build of the Gazelle and opt for hemp and mushroom on the upper. The green upper features white embroidery that flows throughout the upper, as Sean’s logo is stitched on the maroon heeltab alongside adidas Hemp branding. A cork insole featuring Sean’s logo moulds to your feet as a semi-translucent gum midsole and outsole finish off the sneaker.

The Studio Hagel Adidas Samba is for dreamy boys and Brontë bros

Studio Hagel has been working on some of the most experimental sneakers since 2015, and for its next project, the Amsterdam-based design collective has got its sights set on the Three Stripes with the Studio Hagel x Adidas Samba. Apparently inspired by those little twee napkins that you might find in restaurants that offer small plates at the price of much bigger plates, the old school silhouette has never ever looked as dainty as this.

 

 

Revealed in four colourways including white, pink, yellow and blue, one of the first things that you'll notice about these Sambas is the fully revamped construction. While most pairs are made from leather or suede (or even nylon), Studio Hagel has switched out these material for a soft crepe-like fabric. Each of the panels are highlighted by a line of contrast stitching, while little flowers are embroidered throughout the trainers for a Cecilie Bahnsen-coded aesthetic (she's the Copenhagen designer responsible for every woman's transformation into a prairie Brontë heroine).

Light grey cotton laces tie everything together, and down below, you'll find a full gum rubber midsole – like the OG pairs from back in the ‘40s when they were made for football, not flexing. The shoes are then finished off with “Hagel” branding across the lateral sides, just to remind you that these aren’t just any ol' Sambas.

We're not even two weeks into 2024, and Adidas is already going all-out with the classic silhouette. Not only has the trainer community been blessed with colourways like the ‘Black Gum’ (made in Italia, FYI), shit-hot collabs from the likes of JJJJound and Mita are also dropping very, very soon.

There's no news on when (or if) the Studio Hagel x Adidas Samba collection will release, but if it does, expect to find them at Studio Hagel, Adidas, and select stockists globally in extremely limited numbers.

The Nike Air Force 1 Low Valentine’s Day Comes With Glitter Swooshes

In addition to the upcoming Nike Cortez Valentine’s Day that we just showcased, another sneaker from Nike’s upcoming 2024 Valentine’s Day Collection is showcased with this clean offering of the Nike Air Force 1 Low. Done in an official color palette of Sail, Team Red, Medium Soft Pink, and Gym Red, the iconic Bruce Kilgore design begins with a Sail leather construction all over the upper with the same shade of white noted on the tongues, rope laces, heel tabs, and rubber midsoles. The Valentine’s theme is done with the help of a bubble jewel Swoosh on the lateral side panel which has been filled with sparkling glitter, the special charms placed on the laces, and the flower and heart branding on the insoles and heels. Nike's Chinese New Year Air Force 1s Just Got More Ornate

The Chinese New Year is a running theme within the sneaker community, with brands often dialling up the details in order to celebrate the holiday. And while we’ve seen a fair few contenders for the best Year of the Dragon-themed sneakers in 2024 already, this one may just have them all beat.

Sure, Nike have already readied an Air Force 1 for the occasion, but let’s be real – it barely holds a candle to this one. Shared by @shanghaisole over on Instagram, this masterpiece of a pair is reportedly hitting the SNKRS app in China next month, so let’s take a closer look.

 

Decked out in super-luxe satin-style uppers that stretch down to the outsole (yes, even the midsole looks to have received a wrap) the pair boasts a textured floral pattern (complete with subtle Swooshes), while a delicate golden embroidered dragon works its way along its lateral sidewalls. Nike branding also appears in gilded tones on the heel, and the pair's tongue tabs and dubraes feature additional Chinese character detailing.

While there’s still not a lot of info on this ‘Year of the Dragon’ Nike Air Force 1 right now, it looks like they’re set to be a Chinese exclusive and are reported to be dropping on the SNKRS app on February 14 for an estimated retail price of $365. Keep it locked for more info as it comes in!

Song for the Mute Unveil Three New Colourways for the adidas Country

Update February 5, 2024: Song for the Mute are getting ready to drop a set of new adidas Country silhouettes. Fans can expect the classic kicks to arrive in grey, brown and blue. Unlike the duo's initial release, which featured a more sleek look, the upcoming three versions sport sherpa-inspired Three Stripes along with rough suede patches near the front of the style, giving it an overall edgy aesthetic.

You can cop these on February 21, presumably via Song for the Mute's website and adidas's platforms. Stay tuned for more official details.

Australian brand Song for the Mute have once again joined forces with adidas to rework one of the footwear label's classic silhouettes. Set to debut at Paris Fashion Week, the team-up will debut during Paris Fashion Week at Song for the Mute’s showroom from January 17 to 22.

On top of apparel, the Country – adidas's 1978 trail runner – has been reimagined with a hairy suede upper. Based on a sneak peek shared by Song for the Mute, the silhouette comes in five different colourways: maroon, brown, green, black and silver. All variations seem to have similar glossy toes, while an extra patterned lace comes attached to the main lacing system. Elsewhere, the tongue boasts a handwritten version of adidas's logo with 'SFTM' underneath, while an 'SFTM-003' tag can be found stitched near the heel.
