After we sold Ba we need a Plan B. Costa will be great for us - the issue is Lukaku is ineffective at times (he's still very raw) and Torres is as useful as a split condom. We need someone to pump balls up to, and Didi can still do a job. After losing Ash and Frank we need more "generals" in this team. Okay, we're getting Costa who is a ratty little shit and will really wind up the opposition, and Cesc is ridiculously experienced at every possible level, but we need real leaders and with Cech also likely on his way out, it's going to leave us with just JT and Ivanovic as the generals in that team.

Don't forget, both David Luiz and Juan Mata both credited Drogba for teaching them his free kick technique. He would be an amazing coach. Nobody found space like Didier. That is Torres's problem, he couldn't get his positioning right if you marked it with a big red X. He'll only run into the right position, waving his arms about like a fucking spastic once the ball has already been shot.

Before even going into the discussion on whether or not bringing him back is a good idea, I would raise an important subject the club needs to solve if we sign Drogba and that is the HG quota.

We had a discussion earlier today in the Victor Moses thread about the team's homegrown status for the season and as it stands our squad is already full with one player even missing out (Van Ginkel, Romeu, Mikel, Schwarzer, Cech or whoever, take your pick). If the plan is to still add Drogba and Tiago is coming back too like the rumours suggest, we're going to have to make room for them by offloading some of the existing non-HG players. Players like Lukaku, Zouma, Aké etc. will still be U21 so they won't matter but some of the others have to go.
