He is not participating in Gold Cup.  He is resting and recuperating, getting ready to compete for playing time (as he said recently in response to a reporter's question).

Good, if true.

The club will have so many players in the Euros and once they're done with the tournament they'll have a few weeks holiday before joining pre-season training so if Pulisic will be there from the very start in July he can have a bit of a head start. As a player whose role in the team is not quite secured he should really take that opportunity to get back in. Same for Ziyech btw.

He is a competitor. He will compete. He now knows that he is likely to be used differently than he was under Lampard, so we shall see how the competition for playing time goes. I think he loves Chelsea FC and wants to secure his place there.  But I also think he sees himself as a starter, and probably has trouble understanding why Werner gets so many more minutes and chances than he gets.  So the way he feels about his future at Chelsea FC in the summer of 2022 may be different than the way he feels now.

I am optimistic that TT will find a way to use Pulisic's talents. But if not, sometimes the needs of a club and the needs of player diverge.

It would be bizarre if he really thought that when in the final two months of the campaign, Werner was primarily being used as a striker, leaving Havertz, Mount, Ziyech and even CHO as Pulisic's competition for the other two attacking spots. Furthermore, in the final two months of the campaign or since the March international break, both Werner and Pulisic ended up playing a similar amount of minutes with the former just playing a tad more than the latter (less than a game IIRC). Plus, it's not as if Pulisic covered himself in glory every time he started either.

Think next season could be a key one for Pulisic considering he would have only two years left on his contract come next summer. If he doesn't kick on next season, something that he didn't really do this past season after a strong end to 2019/20, then things could change for him.

I think we are saying the same thing (or consistent things), two different ways. He is happy at Chelsea now, recognizes that he must compete for PT, and is happy to do that next year. He has said as much publicly.  He has also intimated that he wants to be a starter, or the equivalent of a starter in a rotation system. There is a manager perspective and a player perspective. They are not the same and both can be right, even when they conflict. TT might maximize Chelsea outcomes in a way that doesn’t maximize Pulisic’s effectiveness. Such is the nature of formations and systems. Chelsea knows this better than most clubs.

He is very humble, I like that. But also he states he just like playing, don't put pressure on him. Because all eyes on him in America.

Good thing for us is that it brings more viewership and hence in theory more revenue to come in from USA.

Thought the US was playing the Gold Cup right now??

All of the top players are not playing so they can do preseason with their clubs. They all decided to play Nations League and skip Gold Cup.

Fortunately for us, the USA manager said he would rest him for the Gold cup after a grueling season with us. He wants to try out some of the other players also with a view to qualification for the 2022 world cup.

That is probably a bad precedent to set long term, look at some of the players that refuse to go the Afcon for example. Playing for your nation should be a sense of pride that comes before club football. I do understand why they chose to skip the Gold Cup though.
