A move back to Germany maybe.
ZAPHOD2319 4,818
He has MLS written all over him. He will be on much lower wages and no MLS team will pay anywhere near what he sold for the last time.
MoroccanBlue 5,382
I think Newcastle would be worth a shout. With their new money they would also love to expand their reach to the American market.
Magic Lamps 11,692
I thought it would be worth to just keep him around as some kind of mascot. Just let him make marketing tours through Murica for the rest of his contract. He would probably pay his wages in revenues we generate from the yank market. And as long as he is injured the us fanboys at least don't make a fuss about why he is not playing.
ZAPHOD2319 4,818
I think the US fans are more accustomed to him not playing if they followed him at Dortmund. I didn't watch all the games at Dortmund, but I did occasionally. It is a small segment of the US sports scene that even pays attention to him. He is recognizable, but only by name for most sports fans. I cannot think of any commercial that I have ever seen him in on US tv?

So he is promoting Chelsea in a big effort. Commercials aside from Chelsea game promos are not big, but he is soft spoken and does not have a big personality.

Quote If Pulisic stays at Stamford Bridge for the duration of his contract that would add up to at least £100m – and it could potentially be much more than that. https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/8228325/Chelsea-pulisic-conquer-america-abramovich/   Edited October 19, 2021 by MoroccanBlue

Thanks. The article projected what would happen when we signed him but things haven't exactly gone to plan given his injury record. Hard to attract US sponsors if he's constantly injured or being a sub, no? Plus off the top of my head and I might be wrong but I don't seem to recall we have gotten many US sponsors since signing him.

I do not know how Spurs got such a following in the US, but before Pulisic joined the team, Man United and Spurs sold the most merchandise in the US market. Since Pulisic joined, Chelsea is selling more than Man United...which is a lot. The Midwest has really adopted Chelsea. Although the midwest is not as populated as the East Coast and West Coast, those fans are loyal to clubs and players. So he opened that loyal fan base. I do not know how to quantify that into money gained.

Robben - 3 seasons. 19 Games missed, 110 days injured. Pulisic - 2.5 seasons. 45 games missed, 335 days injured.  ZAPHOD2319, nachikethas, chelsea_4_eva and 1 other 1

mshnd06 11
Won't dispute that Puli is even more brittle than Robben, but his G/90 with Chelsea is better than Robben's was - .356 vs .309. That said, Robben was a superior playmaker

ZAPHOD2319 4,818
Sports Illustrated has the same story.  Christian Pulisic The 23-year-old was ruled out of the Canaries fixture by Tuchel. He has been training on his own at Cobham as he steps up his recovery from an ankle injury sustained on international duty last month.  Tuchel has continued to offer his full support to the American on his road to recovery, which has left Pulisic impatient ahead of a return to action. For now, Pulisic will have to spend some more time on the sidelines and watch from afar on Saturday. https://www.si.com/soccer/Chelsea/.amp/news/pulisic-lukaku-werner-tuchel-provides-latest-Chelsea-team-news-for-norwich-city-clash
