Umm some Scientists tried to get a stay on this experiment by taking the CERN to court. They say that this experiment will give rise to small blackholes inside the earth which will over a period of time merge and grow into large blackhole which will slowly start consuming the planet.

But thats a myth. As a smallblack hole usually doesnt last long. They evaporate. Its one helluva experiment though.
