Willlian just looks like he has nothing at all in him; time to move him on. Musonda needs to start reacting to space and the 2nd pass more quickly. Our whole defense was great that half, even Cahill. Batshuayi held it up brilliantly and looked dangerous. Willian was Willian. Did well everywhere but when it mattered which is the final ball. The youngsters Musonda and Ampadu struggled. Ampadu was decent but Charly lost the ball about 6 times. Drinkwater was clearly rusty but good still. The former knows what do with the ball unlike Willian, and the latter makes decisive runs and offers that directness Willian can only dream about. It must be really frustrating to play with the Brazilian at times, if not at all times. Maybe with Hazard or Pedro Musonda could really shine and show what he's all about? There's no way Conte can drop Rudiger in his current form. Either drop Cahill or Azpilicueta, or play Azpi as a wingback but Rudiger should definitely not be on the bench. Musonda has been genuinely awful assist or not, if this is how he performs in training then there's no wonder he's not getting in ahead of Willian even in his current form. Batshauyi is a lot better in general play tonight aswell. Back 3 solid, Zappa really good, Drinkwater, Kenedy and Willian okay, overall good first half. There's no point in playing Musonda if he's not playing with similar minded players, is there? It'd be like putting Messi in the West Brom team and still expecting his magic.
