It was clearly shown during the match towards the end.

Didn't see it. The replays that I saw on my stream showed he was slightly offside, or at least so it looked to me and the commentators.

Although if he doesn't improve by next season, I'll give up hope.

In the same seat sort of. Always said we should give him a season to bed in. Next season we’ll truly see what he’s made of. Things aren’t looking great at the moment after a really good start though.

Lukaku's issue has always been goals in big fixtures, apparently this was his first goal for United against a top 6 team and that I'm not surprised about one bit. Wasn't really a game for CFs today, Lukaku got going in bursts but again not really consistent throughout the match.

Yeah it was, by Lukaku is still well on his way to scoring probably 30 in all comps this season with around 10 assists. That’s a respectable output. I’m afraid Morata won’t even hit 20 goals this season.

There's still so many aspects of Morata's game that trump Lukaku's, I think scoring 20 plus a season consistently might take a while for Morata but I reckon he'll get there eventually but again as a CF when you've got Willians, Pedros, Hazards, Cescs all playing you've got to be able to do more than just get on the end of things. I think despite the lack of goals Morata is better suited to our team than Lukaku would be. I think we'll see a difference next season, Morata has got a good level of ability and I think a years experience of ups and downs in the PL will go a long way in his progression.

Imagine after Stoke away that, come Feb, Chelsea fans would want Olivier 'Arsenal French Lampost' Giroud first name on the team sheet. Football is mental sometimes.
Stoke have the worst home record IIRC, so that performance doesn't mean much at this point.

A lot of strikers have come over to the Premier League and taken time to bed in. Top strikers at that too.

With the market the way it is, I cannot see the club splashing out serious money on a new striker unless (1) they can get top dollar back for Morata (or possibly Batshuayi) or (2) they sell Hazard and re-invest most of these funds in a striker.

I think he has to be given time to adapt fully to the league. Earlier in the season, he showed that there is obvious talent there. The biggest adjustment which he is failing to get to grips with at the moment is holding the ball up and the physical nature of the league. He goes down way too easily at the moment, and that's ok in the right circumstances (think Drogba) but he also needs to be strong and hold up the ball in other circumstances.

I agree with others though, if he fails to adapt to this way of the league next season we could very well be struggling again.

Contrary to the popular belief, Giroud is/was a far better striker than Morata but the only issue with Giroud, is that he is declining with age, whilst Morata is supposed to be in his prime. Giroud has hit double figures in the league 7 times in his career, while Morata has only hit double figures twice, despite Giroud being only 6 years older. The only thing Morata has done impressive in his entire career, was the Juventus 14/15 CL run, which yes IMO, it was amazing. Real Madrid have let go of this guy, TWICE, which goes to tell you everything about him, if we are to consider him as some elite striker.
