EskWeston 696
He looks a class player. But he hasn't played at the first team level much yet even for the club he is leaving, so there is a lot for him to learn, but having the skills is the one thing you can't learn and he seems to have that in bucket loads. It seems we're mere inches from getting him today, but according to Wikipedia (not a source well known for breaking news) he has already signed.Santo's Wiki entry reads like this: "Franco Matías di Santo (born April 7, 1989 in Mendoza, Mendoza Province) is an Argentine professional football player who plays as a striker for Chelsea." Elliott 7
Just a wiki entry though. Someone has probably assumed the inevitable that we will sign him so felt it was safe to say we already had him. I can't see where there might be a hitch, he seems to be interested, we're interested, and he has European citizenship.
EskWeston 696
I believe that the terms have been agreed with both the club and the player and it is now just a case of him comming over at the weekend to take his medical and to be officially unveiled. Not too sure why we waiting till now as the deal had been done for a while....

EskWeston 696
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Franco_Di_Santo Franco Di Santo got robben's top number 16 Lol, that HAS to be completely made up for sure...... He does look a very intelligent player and ideally suited to play for us with his height, but he will take time to get used to the more physical nature of the Premier League, his quick feet and speed will be an asset to us as well, and i look forward to seeing him play for us,

EskWeston 696
Yup seen that one, it is always hard to get a feel from videos though. The fact that he is in the Argentina youth team though says a lot about his ability and that he is so highly rated there too.

Stamford 3
Argentine striker Franco Di Santo is determined to make a name for himself at Chelsea. The Blues agreed a deal with Di Santo's club Audax Italiano before Christmas and the 18-year-old is now looking forward to linking up with his new team-mates. He is particularly excited about the prospect of playing alongside Didier Drogba, but admits he still finds it hard to believe that he will be joining one of the world's biggest clubs so early in his career. "I am still checking myself because sometimes I feel like I am dreaming," Di Santo told his homeland press. "I didn't imagine this was going to happen so quickly. So much has happened to me over the last 18 months and this has made me very happy. Calm "I know nobody there knows who I am but I am calm and will try to win myself a place in the team and also some respect. "I want to learn many things and I am going to love being next to Drogba, (Salomon) Kalou, (Frank) Lampard, (Shaun) Wright-Phillips, (Andrei) Shevchenko and (Nicolas) Anelka. "Being in the same dressing room as Drogba is something from another world." Di Santo is confident he will adapt to life in a new country and settle into English football quickly. "I like cold and rainy weather so I don't have a problem with that," he explained. "If I want to have success in my career I have to adapt to everything."
