I dont want it to happen, really. But you got to admit it is a fucking big amount of money for 2 players who dont have the legs anymore!

Imagine if we get rid of Torres as well, that is roughly 20 million in wages for 3 players....

This will free space for the much needed top CB, DM, CM and ST. Without spending any more money than we already are.

That is if Terry and Lamps r ready to play in a much lower salary (out of loyalty to the club). like giggs and scholes

I've been saying this for a long time. If we thought the Lampard situation was a protracted mess then this will be even worse. And the idea of Terry as future manager makes me shudder.

Just how bad is his knee? Why is he starting most games as a substitute? He can't honestly be happy with that situation nor can I imagine he is quiet about it. Just doesn't seem in his nature not to want to be on the pitch … I think our back line is currently doing well don't get me wrong, I just don't understand if our captain is healthy why he is sitting on the bench. Other than I just don't understand the FSW's tactical genius…

Terry isn't fully fit and hasn't been fully fit for years. With his accumulation of injuries over the years I doubt whether he will truly be fully fit ever again.

He can't run any more, his lateral movement is non-existent and he takes about 15 seconds to turn his body around. When he plays the team has to drop so deep the defenders are nearly within arms reach of Cech, which means the team can't push on or press high up the field and massive gaps start appearing between defence, midfield and attack. As it stands he can only play one game per week and he is physically unable to train the days after a game according to Benitez.

Thanks for explaining. I knew the abuse his body has taken was catching up with him but I hadn't heard the actual report on his recovery. I had also noticed his lack of mobility. None of it is a surprise given how he returned time after time faster than he should have. I knew it was bad when they kept pushing back his return.

I don't like that JT hasn't said anything, it is not like him. Just makes you wonder what else they are covering up or hiding.

There has been confirmed news that John had an argument with Rafa about this at least two times with our senior players siding with the captain against the manager. It's not healthy for the dressing room, not healthy at all.

John Terry's injury situation could be similar to Ledley King who could only play once a week. Also, from what I recall, Redknapp mentioned multiple times that King couldn't train during the week, all he did was basic drills with his CB partner for the next match he'd be involved in...

It'll be a sad day when JT is no longer part of Chelsea's first team.

Wouldnt it be better for the club if Lampard and JT leave us next season?

I mean, how much do they have left? As much as I love them (and I absolutely do), they are not worth 300k/week.

300K? :carlo: In what currency?

EDIT: Oh, you probably meant total, not each. My bad.

His contract is up in 2014; but being a one man club I wonder if he'll try to persuade the board to give him an one or two year extension? As well as the amount of injuries he had may have started to catch up on him, hence reducing his future playing career.

I think a new contract would be very unlikely and I can't see any other clubs coming in for him purely because of the baggage he comes with.

What will be interesting will be the fight to replace him in the squad. If you assume Ake and Chalobah will be midfielders (albeit ones who can cover defence) then it could be between Kalas (who'd be 21 and could have a year's PL experience if stories about West Brom are true) and Omeruo (20).

I assume you just mean premier league, as a load of clubs would want him in china/russia/america etc.

Personally, i think he is still our best defender and whilst that is still the case i want him to stay as long as possible.

China maybe. Russia possibly (mustn't make a Zenit joke). America.....tricky.

I don't know if he's still our best defender because he's not really strung together that many performances recently. His reading of the game has always been exceptional, but his body has taken a battering over the last decade so it's hard to know just where he is right now.

Captain, leader, legged it

FED-UP John Terry dumped his Bentley in a traffic jam — and phoned a mate to sit in the £175,000 supercar until the dual carriageway cleared.
