DYC. 7,542 Posted February 27, 2016 Share Posted February 27, 2016 Hope Emenalo and the scouts are keeping a good eye on Van Dijk. Never thought I'd say this but he's developing into a very good CB. That position will forever remain the hardest to call, so many late bloomers. But it's also position that comes with many one season wonders and players shining at a certain level, only to fail at a higher level. Anyway, Van Dijk is tall, a powerhouse, dominant in the air, good on the ground, clean and calm in duels and keeps growing in terms of tactical awareness. The only downside to him is the fact that he's slow and very slow on the turn. That hurts him. And his passing and decision-making on the ball isn't the best. But that could be compensated with the right partner. There are a couple of options I'd prefer but he could be a good option (at a good price as well). But the question is if he can keep this up. Don't know what to expect but anything less than a win is not a good thing. A draw wouldn't be bad but Chelsea needs to start winning games.
