Left back Baba has an agreement with Chelsea but he is still waiting for Roma according to Di Marzio

It's safe to say Roma is out of the race when they buy Salah. They have zero non-EU spots left and with Salah and Castan (who comes back from long injury) they already have to make a room for those 2. They will look for someone with EU passport for LB spot.

Chelsea are in pole position to sign the Ghana defender Baba Rahman from FC Augsburg, with the German club expecting an opening bid of around £14m for the 21-year-old this week.

With Filipe Luís, the Brazil full-back, set to leave Stamford Bridge and return to Atlético Madrid for £16m after just one season in the Premier League, José Mourinho has moved quickly to replace him by following up earlier interest in Rahman.
Italian champions Juventus have also indicated that they are ready to make a bid along with Roma, although Rahman is understood to prefer a move to the Premier League.
Augsburg are holding out for a fee of €25m (£17.5m), although they are likely to accept slightly less for a player who joined them from Greuther Fürth only last summer.

Baba is currently the 7th ranked player according to the latest Bundesliga player index with an average of 2.9 interceptions, 3.5 clearances, 1.4 dribbles, 0.5 shot blocks and 4.8 tackles – the highest tackle rate by any player in the Bundesliga

Where did you see this?

If we sign another experienced LB, it could have the same fate as Luis last season and we will sell him at the same time as today next year. It is make sense to looking for someone young and potential for this position as Azpi understudy also act as a backup. Baba fits in those criteria perfectly.

I have never seen this kid play. How is his attacking ability? Worse than Luis but better than Azpi I assume and therefore it makes sense as then both fullback positions would have defensive and more attacking options available.

He looks bang on average from what I have seen so far, looks like another dude we are linked to because of his physical attributes more than his actual ability. He looks average at best technically.

And what exactly have you seen? Have you watched him play or are you basing your rather poor assessment on YouTube?
