Yes, but that was before. WE played counter football where strikers had to be fast and strong, taller to get the ball in air etc.

Shewa and Torres never worked because they joined in decline of their careers. When sheva retrn to milan, club he scored all those goals (and was best player in the world at some point), he was just shadow. So it wasnt just Chelsea that was bad for him. Same goes to Torres. He is not the player once was. I bet with his form from 2007-2009, he would be destroying opponents even at Chelsea. But this Torres is shit. As for Ba goes, he is tall and strong and somehow very Drogba/Hasselbaink look alike; but he isnt that good obviously in football skills.

So...we have changed our play. We want to keep the ball. Not just pull back and do things on fast counters. We have brilliant creators. With top striker, we would score 2 more goals per game. Defensively, Falcao is no worse than Torres. Imagine that killer Falcao in penalty area, given support from Mazacar...

But sure there are few problems. Despite Falcao always played in counter attacking team, he is deadly around goal. It doesnt matter how much space he has. He has great dribbling (effective), he has superb shot and excelent in air. What worries me about Falcao is not his addaptation, but his age. He is 27 and I think last season he was better than this one. Not in terms of goals, but in play. He destroyed us and Atletic alone. He scored several superb goals. Better than this season. He had more fight in him and more to prove like he wants to go in better club. At age 27 he could do a Di Natale and play till 34+. Or his pace and explosivness goes down and we will have another Torres. Falcao goals are based on fast game. We have fast game. If Falcao loses his killer instinct and speed, he wont score more than 10 goals. He isnt Rvp, Aguero to create chances. He scores from everywhere. He is also 'star'. If there will be half chance he will shoot. Even if Mata or Hazard will be in much better chance.

But unlike Torres he is a fighter. And as they say, luck is on the side of brave so...

He isnt worth 50mio. Not at this age. If he was 25, he would have 4 years guaranteed to be on best form. After 29, you never know. And now he is 27, soon to be 28 and that is close to 29. Sure Rvp is 29, Suarez will soon be 27, Villa is 31 etc. But they are more than poachers. If we have chance to get Falcao for 25-30mio plus Torres, then I would buy him in a sec. But anything over that he just isnt worth anymore. Sure if we can get same Falcao who scored 3 goals cs us, we would win PL next year for sure.

But with the striker situation at Chelsea, EVERYONE will have to handle huge pressure. Falcao for 50 or Bony for 10. If the striker will come as first choice he will have huge pressure on him, no matter the price tag.

Mou, Falcao (30mio) and Modric/Strotman/Gundogan/Moutinho (20-30mio) and we are set! In 2014 we just buy a CB and LB and there is team for next 8 years

Yes. What excludes Falcao from Torres is the psychic part of him. He is a natural born fighter, it's in him. And I do agree on your opinion about the deal with the 30 mil. + Torres. But that is how I see things, and It will come down to that eventually. Atleast, I think it will.

Great post, but it'd still be an expensive gamble. It's 25M minus Torres; I mean, because from a Chelsea's standpoint it would be not having to pay % of Torres wages. Realistically, Chelsea will be paying part of his wages until his contract runs out. Torres was never a very aggressive player, but he had a lot of pace before.

Just think 25-30M is just way too much money for only a good player. Perhaps it's time to bet on younger/cheaper players? For ex, with that amount of money you could get 2 22-23 yo highly-rated players. If we are going to go for a 30M player, that's Cavani, not Falcao.

To me Falcao is an immense footballer. One of the deadliest strikers in Europe.

According to the latest Falcao, is expected to be worth in the region of € 50m although Chelsea could pay much less up front.

Well, if that´s the case, I´d say get this guy over asap.

My question:

Can Falcao transform Chelsea into a title contender of PL, CL ?

I sincerely hope so, if signed.

I doubt Chelsea ever made a second approach and it's been all speculation. 50 million for someone getting close to 30 yrs of age is ridiculous. Someone who's just going to be isolated up top waiting for the service that won't always be there because Chelsea have attacking midfielders with a selfishness about them looking to score which is fine with me but not ideal for Falcao who needs plenty of service having that monumental price tag over his head. You run the risk of him losing confidence and repeating Torres and Sheva all over again. When KDB gets in the mix there's going to be a lot of crosses and long balls by him that someone like Lukaku can benefit from.

I too have doubts about it. Having said this, Falcao is at the peak of his career, I feel.

Then one may ask, what else is new at Chelsea ? Chelsea´s management is totally clueless, as we can see it, these days.

Plenty of young, talented players are out on loans. Personally, I have been following Chelsea closely since late 2001 but I am getting fed up with it now. Constant changes of managers, gifted players are playing for other clubs, just one fucking chaos at the Bridge, I feel.

Since the fans have no say in this matter but despite of it, many of us may voice our disapproval of the way Chelsea is run.

I am not saying I could do better. Of course none or most of us are not qualified to do so. It just pains me to see the same mistakes over & over. So much money spent by Roman over the years, certainly great achievements were made but this club should be fighting for CL, PL titles yearly, I feel.

Oh I would love to see El Tigre wearing blue kit ;-) I always admire strikers like Drogba, Falcao and Cavani. All of them got good technique, strength and they're great in the air. Hope we sign Falcao or Cavani in the summer.

Im laughing when these 'news' keep mentioning Falcao and Real Madrid when its generaly known fact that Atletico will never sell him to Real, somehing Mou told months ago.

I guess its us, City or Psg. But in the end he will stay. I think neither City or us will pay 50mio for him. Unless we get him for 25 and that would be brilliant piece of bussines. You realy think city will buy such striker when they need a replacements for Barry, Nasri? They still have Aguero, Dzeko and Tevez. The most possible is Jovetic. While I hope we end with Cavani...
