You can't compare Lewandowski and Falcao... To me, Lewandowski is a big hype, when i watch the games he scores ordinary goals, poacher's goals. Check Falcao's goals. So diverse, so unpredictable, fast as lightning... he is one or two steps up compared to Lewandowski. I'm glad some of you don't compare him to the likes of Cisse and Sturridge...

so you think Falcao is better because he scores better looking goals than Lewandowski? how can you say Lewy is just big hype??? he is one of the very best strikers in Europe already and has more to his game than Falcao!

I think Falcao is better because he is more diverse and in my eyes although he is regarded as the best nr. 9 in the world, he keeps his head down, stays humble. I really value that. I'm not saying Lewandowski is bad, not at all, in fact he is brilliant but he has different attributes to those of Falcao. The age factor doesn't play any role in here, 26 is not even prime age for a footballer - so that won't be a problem when it comes to deciding who is better. I could go as far as say that Falcao has proven himself alot more on bigger stage than Lewandowski, who has only played a handful of games against foreign top clubs. Only team who can challange them in Bundesliga is Bayern Münich and perhaps some other clubs who are on form on that day, other than that it's not very hard for them in the league. Falcao played against top portuguese clubs, won Europa League twice, now plays against Barcelona, Real Madrid, Valencia and even Malaga, and has impressed at every level. Just look at the Super Cup defeat against Atletico in August - he dominated our defence single handedly. Big game player, who ever sings him will get a very good deal, no doubt.

Falcao: Games/goals/ratio of his professional career

Total 301 186 0.62

Europa League top scorer: 2010/2011; 2011/2012

Europa League final man of the match 2011

Europa League final man of the match 2012

UEFA super cup man of the match 2012

Lewandowski: 113 games, 53 goals - ratio of 0.46

Not too much to show for individual efforts, just Polish League merits, DFB Pokal top scorer (7goals)

So it's easy to see who has proven himself, but regardless both can flop but on forums all you can do is debate and the facts are of Falcao's side. Lewandowski has a big potential, Falcao has potential and has also backed it up already on the pitch. If we could sign someone from Dortmund, I'd choose either one of Subotic/Hummels or Reus

i'd say let's wait till the summer to get a proper manager and then sign players he wants.

I actually agree with this, but I will point out one thing about Falcao - Guardiola is a massive fan of his. He's commented on him a few times, calling him the 'best in the box in the world'.

I wouldn't discount this signing actually being either the 'presumptive next manager's' choice or at least a bit of bait to get him.

So you say Falcao has proven himself on the bigger stage? how exactly? because he has won two Europa Leagues? really? that is a mickey mouse competition no one cares about that! Lewandowski is tearing up the CL! you say Falcao has played against top Portuguese clubs! wow thats great! Lewnadowski plays against top Bundesliga clubs, again a much higher level! you mention Falcao playing against Real Madrid and Valencia how did that go for him? because let me tell you he was awful in both games! how did Lewandowski do in 2 games against Madrid? he was top class in both games! and then you mention Falcao scoring a hattrick against Chelsea, well if you watched that game you would have seen how easy we made it for him! compare that to Lewandowski's hattrick in the German cup final against Bayern, Lewandowski's performance was far more impressive! and all of this at a younger age than Falcao.

I get your admiration for Lewandowki but he posted you simple facts that speak for themselves. Say what you want about Europa League - it might not rake in as much money for clubs, but it certainly is no pushover..and having won 2 is something while also being MOTM in the finals.

Regarding Bundesliga (which i regard the most beautiful league in the world).. it is dominated by Dortmund and Münich..rare sparks from Levekrusen, Schalke and a few other but portuguese league is a fair head to head race between Braga, Benfica, Porto, Sporting Lissbon.. all of which are a force to be reckoned with be it in CL or EL.

The three goals Falcao scored against us in the Super cup were brilliant.. you can argue that we might have made it easy for him but the fact is - he capitalized on our mistakes , a pure striker's killer instinct.

I don't get it. People are getting excited about us paying 50m and 200k/wk for one player? We have the thinnest squad in the top 6 of our league. We could use that money to get 3-4 good players and solve a lot of problems. Besides don't we already have a striker that cost the same and with similar wages?!

Funny how many people saying that Torres was done when we bought him because I don't remember a single person saying that back then. Same goes for Shevshencko who was a much better striker and all around player than Falcao.

Point is Falcao can flop here and I don't think, we can afford that risk tbh.

What I don't understand is why people are so sure this deal is even going to happen in January, so discussing transfer fees and wages is irrelevant at this point considering the only foundation for these rumours are what Spanish TV have said. I'm not so sure Atletico will sell in January, and i'm not sure Falcao would want to leave in January anyway.

My prediction: Torres won't leave in January, and Falcao won't join. Sturridge will leave and we'll sign a DM and a striker to compete with Torres, not replace him outright. In the summer, we'll sign a marquee striker and Torres will leave. You heard it here first.

i agree i think in Jan we will sign someone like Ba, Walcott, Villa, Llorente or Gomis plus a midfielder then in the summer we will go for Falcao, Lewandowski, Benzema or Higuain with Torres leaving.
