I couldn't find the source where I read about Destro scoring 0.95 goals per game. And on Whoscored, it doesn't look like it was 0.95.

15(5) appearances, scored 13 and assisted 1 in the league. That's pretty good.

20M for a loan is insane. We have Costa as our #1 striker, we don't need another #1 striker. We need someone who can be our #2 striker. We only play with one striker so the law of diminishing returns means that the value gained by getting another big striker will be minimal.

To wit, let's say Chelsea play 50-60 games this season (and that's including early Cup ties against low opposition or CL group games of low importance). Diego Costa started 52 games for Athletico last year.Let's say we'd like him to start 40-45 games to keep him more fresh. That means we need another striker to be able to start 5-20 more games as well as be an impact sub. That means, that going after someone like Falcao for a one year period for this is a ludicrous waste of resources. We need another striker, Drogba is best suited as a #3 striker, but that doesn't mean Chelsea have to go after a big name striker and certainly not for a loan . We don't have to scrimp and save , but we can actually buy a good striker for less than we'd pay to loan Falcao. For example, Bony was 12M pounds last year, There are many many strikers who are fully capable of playing the #2 role well and could be long-term additions to the team. (BTW, Jovetic who is a very exciting young player was 22M pounds last year).

First of all, we wouldn't be paying 20m for the best pure striker in the world. No, we'd be paying for a loan and wouldn't own him. And he's not the best pure striker in the world. Top 5 definitely, top 3 most likely. But hasn't shown the same greatness after his injury (not saying he lost some of it but he could have but that's another discussion).

Second, if you don't care about the clubs money and how they invest it on new players, because it doesn't affect you, you're not a fan. Of course it affects you, because you are a fan and you want the club to get the best players. If they'd just toss the money around, they'd have less money to spend and would maybe get that one crazy player but wouldn't be able to get a good overall balanced squad like we have now. We've had a great transfer window this summer and the club has done some excellent business and they've done so because they've invested wisely. 32m for Costa, selling Mata and Luiz for 40m and 50m, great! Getting rid of Torres and saving money that way: great! Getting rid of the high wages of Lampard and Cole, is great business even though I'll miss them (especially Lamps)! And Fabregas was great business as well. A 20million loan is not. It's terrible business. Even for a player as great as Falcao. And how would that work with Costa? We're a one striker team, you know?

Chelsea has the money, but they don't have infinite money. You do know that, right? And FFP is something to keep in mind, altough I'm not allowed by you to mention it so I won't go into it.

And last but not least, we wouldn't have the best strike force in the world. We'd have two great strikers, but would they play together? If you have two strikers of that caliber they should, but we'll probably still play with two (or in one striker team) three AM's. We'd have a great LW in Hazard but our 10 position or RW can still use some improvement. Nowhere near the strike force of Real Madrid or Bayern...

The £20 million is wages as well, so it's the equivalent of him costing £60 million on a 5 year contract paying Torres-esque wages.

For a player who will be 29 before the season ends, would be second-choice and is coming off what is often a career-changing injury (usually it takes another 12 months to get back to where the sportsman was before the injury) it's an insane amount of money.

FFP isn't really an issue because we're very savvy in the market. It's that savviness that makes it unlikely we'll do a deal like this.

I'd say Barca's is more difficult to stop as with Messi and Suarez you're more likely to get a moment of individual brilliance than with Madrid's trio. Bale can be stopped pretty easily if you deny him spaces and we'll see how well Falcao does after his ACL injury.
