Shane 2,275
Is there a way of translating this?Radamel Falcao is one step closer to signing for Chelsea, trying for a bond and a long-term annual return of 5.7 million euros. The Colombian striker (earning less than one million / year, the Dragon, and has a contract until 2013) gave yesterday, the "yes" to Andre Villas-Boas and Roman Abramovich, through the agent Jorge Mendes, after seeing reduced the chances to play at Real Madrid, who preferred to go to the Brazilian Neymar. Sheva. 5,373
I want Hulk , but his release clause is 87m so it will be hard to get him for anything under 40mWon't mind Falcao if this is true, a very good goal poacher
milllz 43
really dont see where hes going to fit in tbh, we play with 1 striker and we have Drogba, torres, anelka, sturridge, lukaku (probably) and unless hes played as a winger which really doesnt suit him i have no idea how we are goin to play next season
Duppy Conqueror 1,565
Good point, I don't see AVB bringing anyone in immediately tho do you? As he stated he wants to meet the players and see them as a unit before he starts filling gaps. We might see us active in the market towards the end of July or early August it seems.what he said was in regard to current players going out. that does not mean that he`s gonna wait that long to bring players in.he could share the opinion with a large percentage of the fan base that our squad was too small last season..and lets not forget a few players who were on the fringe of our 1st team squad have left already this summer. chrismada9 1,948
If Boas is in favour of keeping the 4-3-3 setup at Chelsea, then I think Falcao would be a pointless signing unless we let Drogba, Kalou and Anelka leave.
ruggedknot 105
If this is really happening , expect one or two of Anelka/Kalou/Drogba to leave . Hopefully Sturridge gets some time , doubt he'll be staying any longer till he gets assurances . Another loan spell or worse a transfer away and I wouldn't want Drogba leaving just yet . Then there's the whole thing with Lukaku as well , ayi yi .
Sheva. 5,373
If we get Falcao, then i guess it's safe to say we will not be starting with 4-3-3 next season.Or will he bench Torres
Peace. 4,352
Hmmm, if it's true, I'm quite curious to know what Villas-Boas is planning...
The Big Drog 1,110
You would have to think that this signing would be the end of Drogba and probably Nic Anelka too, especially if we also plan on signing Lukaku. I doubt he will switch formations from a 4--3-3 to one with 2 up top. I suppose you have to look at it as an insurance plan, if Torres starts next season in the same form he finished it then having Falcao ready to step in probably isn't the worst idea in the world. chrismada9 1,948
This whole idea about benching Torres... it's Andriy Shevchenko all over again isn't it?

ruggedknot 105
Porto apparently are very close to signing Maritimo striker Kléber as a possible replacement as well , mentioned on Portugoal.net . This very well could happen .
chrismada9 1,948
There was another name Porto were close to signing as well right? An Argentine from Racing Club? That's what the previous report said?

YouNameIt 1,511
Would it? No, of course not. It would be the dumbest thing ever. Selling a player we bought for 50mil who completley failed we would hardly cash in on much by selling him + theres a really big chance Torres will be awesome next season with all the changes going on.
