According to the Belgian newspaper HLN, Chelsea not only wants Tielemans from Anderlecht, but also Leander Dendoncker.

Leander Dendoncker (19) is a defensive midfielder and one of the biggest Belgian talents. He has an excellent positioning, he runs very very fast, he is strong, recovers an incredible amount of balls, his stamina is amazing (his coach Hasi says that he can keep running for 3 games in a row), his technique is good, his passing is good and he has a beautiful powerful shot in his legs.

He also was the best player on the field against Dortmund and Arsenal in the Champions League, while he had barely played a game before. Sahin (Dortmund) asked him if he could stop running that much, after the game he went to Dendoncker and wanted his shirt.

Nothing but unfounded rumours...

He's a very decent young player but the way you describe him is way exaggerated, no offence. He's in the Anderlecht first team mostly due to character and hard work, he was never regarded as a big talent, not even in the Anderlecht academy.

Not saying he can't turn out a good player though.

Lol, you definitely underestimate this player. He is the best player of your team in the second half of the season for sure. Only Kompany, Ahmed Hossam, Courtois, De Bruyne and Moses Simon have excited me that much in the Belgian league. Hossam only had mental issues, otherwise he would have became one of the best players in the world.

Only playing in the Belgian league as well, so to say a move to Chelsea is a good idea, isn't perhaps a good idea.

Belgian league players of the last 10 years. Vincent Kompany, Yaya Touré, Thibaut Courtois, Kevin De Bruyne, Witsel, Carvalho, Gervinho, Mignolet, Mangala, Lukaku, Benteke, Fellaini, Eboué, Lombaerts, Perisic, Demba Ba, etc. It's not that the league only produces losers.

Never heard about this guy before and I'm usually up to date with any emerging top talent.

From description guy looks like a beast but I'm hard to believe that. Why ? Youri Tielemans is a top talent, absolutely gem and has everything you want from future top midfielder. And now it's hard for me to believe that about same time Anderlecht release another gem from their ranks.

For me Chelsea should go for Tielemans either this year or next.

Slightly offtopic but how is that most of young players from Belgium top academies are very much two-footed ? Whenever I see young Belgian one thing that strikes me most is that they generally can play with either foot with very ease. Our very own Charly Musonda is one example, Youri Tielemans another. Must be something to follow for other countries because I still see in young players that it is often neglected.

No 9 times out of 10 they've gone onto bigger clubs and then went onto a bigger club after so long there. There is nobody from the Belgian League who can straight fit into a top 4 team that is my point, never mind a 18 year old whos played half a season or whatever. They all needed another step before playing for bigger teams.

Anderlecht claims he's the kid they are most proud of, kids like Tielemans, musonda etc would have made it anywhere because of their natural talent, dendoncker is the kid that always played in the shadow and worked the hardest and really got formed by the academy.

And weckerz, since when is good character and hard work not the right formula for a good player?

I know that defensive midfielders never count as real players and are often very much underrated, but you can see that Dendoncker definitely has some world class qualities too. It's certainly not only hard work. But ok, things like an excellent positioning are less obvious to some viewers than an excellent dribbling.

The thing that bothers me the most in Belgian youth academies, is the fact that there are almost no two footed players. But you have named two exceptions indeed ;). For two footed players, you have to look at The Netherlands. And Anderlecht is producing world class players very fast now in their academy. Najar, Acheampong, Praet, Tielemans, Dendoncker and Mbemba certainly have possibilities to reach the European top teams.

Lol at these self proclaimed experts. According to you every young decent Belgian player has world class abilities. Let me guess, Meunier has world class ability as well and will play in some top team soon.

I'm a ticket holder at Anderlecht and been a supporter all my life, Dendoncker is a good young player who got where he is due to hard work, saying he has world class abilities is just laughable. He might develop into a good player but stop overrating these Belgian players, it's annoying.

And LOL at Acheampong or Najar being good enough for European top teams. They wouldn't even cut it in a German subtop team. Jesus Christ I'm starting to think you're taking the piss.

No way that all 6 will reach that far, I only say that they have abilities to achieve that. And when it comes to silly comments, I think you are the winner at this forum ;).

How about you fuck off to a Belgium Fanclub forum instead of filling this CHELSEA forum with your drab noone cares about.

They don't have the abilities imo, only Tielemans has the ability to reach top level. I've watched a lot of Anderlecht games and I'm really not impressed by Najar and Acheampong. Dendoncker is a hard worker and he might reach a decent level, Mbemba and Praet are quite talented but I don't see them playing for a club like Chelsea.

#BuyAllTheBelgians :yay:

Courtois was one of our best signings ever and we made a a lot of money by selling Lukaku and Kevin, so I'm in!

I haven't seen this guy on the pitch yet but it's a nice first name he got. Sign him and that Mosquito kid :D
