Joker10 946
Talk about Football Manager mentality - as if 5M is small change.AgreeAlso if you give in to Florintina demands then other teams will bully us in negotiation. With the exception of the Willian deal we have payed very reasonably.

Madmax 9,219
Is 'activating' the release clause the same as paying the clause amount or does it further attract additional taxes on top? I know that paying the release clause for someone registered in Spain will also obligate you to an additional 40% tax ... what's the case in Italy? Zakadinho 84
Apparently Fiorentina wanted Salah on the deal but Salah does not want to go there, so we have to buy the clause now.

bababoom 4,478
I'm not so sure we're going to bring anyone in now, i could see Salah and Schurrle staying until the summer.

Though Schürrle being totally out of the squad for the last couple of matches would be strange if we weren't at least trying to move him. They don't get enough game time because they just can't deliver at the moment so maybe we do need a change but we do need new blood in our team. Spike 12,049
Talk about Football Manager mentality - as if 5M is small change.Exactly 5m is a lot. If Fiorentina can milk 5m out of Chelsea for being stubborn then other clubs will start. For the last 2/3 years the club has played hardball with transfers, they can't go soft now. lionsden 4,689
While I'm not bothered at all about Cuadrado and Douglas, I do think we are taking FFP compliance too far. surely we can afford to spend up to 50m and still be within the limits if the fees are ammortised without having to sell players to fund it. We are playing it too safe honestly.
