termninja 5,290
Kevin De Bruyne. While it's obvious his mentality wasn't right for our team I feel we should've earned at least more money from his deal.
Spike 12,049
Lukaku. Thought that he could have been the next DDThe fact he plays and approaches the game completely differently notwithstanding.Carvalho. He had a couple of good seasons left in him. HRiver 1,512
I miss Carvalho, proper defender. None of this Ivanovic/Cahill nonsense.

BlueLyon 9,359
Robben. He turned absolutely brilliant. Goalscorer, hardworker. Direct player who would be perfect for Mou team. TOP 3 at some point. Meanwhile we had RW problems for ages. Also maybe doesnt count as player, but Mourinho in 2007. Who knows what would happen if he stayed... BlueStorm1003 539
Robben, Sturridge, Mata,Cech, Carvalho. One that might not be as popular is Bertrand. I was delighted with his performance against bayern in the CL final.

Tomo 21,751
Robben, Cech,KDB, Bertrand, and sturridgeMatic before we got him back was 1000 times worse than any of those.I know he wouldn't have become as good if he stayed but seeing him put such commanding displays while we had horrendous CM trouble was gut wrenching. DYC. 7,542
Zola should've won the league with Chelsea.Gudjohnsen never should've been let go. Loved that man with a passion. Watching him play (surprisingly well in a new role) for Barca hurt.Cole declined but should've stayed and retired a Blue. He's such a dude.Carvalho. Legend. Genuine defender. Never liked the way he left. So little attention, barely any love. That was cold.

LDN Blue 7,903
Why is Sturridge on so few lists? If RdM had kept him around the last few seasons would have been much more bearable.Probably attributed to his current injury problems, it's easy to forget about his ability when he's been out the game for so long. He's got an interesting task now, trying to fit in alongside Benteke.

I think he made the wrong decision going to Liverpool, that season he was coming back into the form we knew he was capable of - After his injury problems affected him so much anyway. Though I do remember speculation of an attitude problem which meant he probably wouldn't have reached the heights he should have anyway. Well, probably at first, but that died quickly. It simply wasn't working anymore. What a terrible end to his career btw. I remember him enjoying somewhat of a revival at Lille, but looking at him now, you'd wonder how he was ever England's next big thing (he was genuinely talented, don't get me wrong). He was really a big hope for English football to be honest, in a time where England were producing more passive central midfield players instead of attacking ones, Joey was a breath of fresh air. But for some reason or the other, he just couldn't grasp the opportunity to really propel his career to the very top.'Joe can be a regular but he has to improve when the team needs him to be part of a defensive organisation.' - Mourinho (October, 2004)
NishC300 1,865
To give some recent examples KDB, Mata and Sturridge. What's ironic is that the same people who defended their sales are now against selling them.
