BlueLion. 21,491
He had a big game yesterday. Fair enough he only really had two saves of note to make (and even Cazorla's stinger was at a comfortable height for him), but his handling and positioning were absolutely fantastic. Always a positive to see a confident goalkeeper, the way he caught everything or at least punched it clear was such a morale-boosting sight for the defence. I was basically about to say the same thing. He was like a footballing air traffic controller.
TorontoChelsea 4,064
An interesting article...http://www.whoscored.com/Blog/cn_uyjpro0sf1kw2s_rvzg/Show/Player-Focus-Goalkeepers-Save-Success-RatesNot much of a surprise. Cech has been one of the top goalies in the world for almost a decade and has shown no signs of slowing down. (The stat itself is hardly perfect. Not all shots on goal are equal. Some teams, like Spurs, allow almost all their shots from inside the box. Other teams will stifle opponents and force them to take long shots which any keeper should save. Still, it is some indication of quality and in this case the statistical analysis and the eye test are in perfect agreement: Cech is great.) Popular Post! Heisenberg 1,824 Posted January 25, 2013 Popular Post! Share Posted January 25, 2013 Nobody talks about Petr, 2 years and 31 pages! For me its normal, we prefer to talk about players that are not playing well, Petr is the best goalkeeper in the history of the club, and one of the best GK in the world, he is a perfect player, as professionnal as Lamps. So we just post 'Petr had a great match' or 'Will petr be the player of the year' BlueLion., Rmpr, BleedsBlue and 5 others

Kezza 1,965
Yeah the level of shit is proportional to the amount of pages there are on a players thread i.e Torres' is mega shit while Cech is the opposite of shit.Edit: this spectrum only applies to Torres and cech Heisenberg
BlueLion. 21,491
I remember in the old Petr Cech thread... when he went through a bad spell in 08/09 people were saying he was a spent force and we needed to buy a new goalkeeper. I believe my exact words were to call them "unintelligible buffoons" and that he would soon be back to his best. Fact is, he's the best goalkeeper this club will ever have, and the best the Premier League has even seen. Fuck Schmichael, Cech is on another level. Tomo 21,751
If it weren't for his head injury we would have had the Messi of between the sticks, instead we have to make do with having the best goalkeeper in the world.
