Loïc Rémy

It's only for the short-term, though. Unless we end up going and signing a genuinely quality striker like Doumbia in the next two transfer windows, then Remy will be our second choice forward in the long-term. He'll get more chances when Schurrle/Salah are inevitably farmed off on loan in Jan.

"We lost Loic Remy on the deadline [in the summer], and that really cost us. If I had Remy here, he'd have eight to 10 goals by now.

"Perhaps they'll loan him back -- he's not getting a game at Chelsea -- but I don't think they will." Harry Redknapp said.

Schurrle ain't going nowhere in Jan.

We're playing against a high line, in desperate need of goals and even then he doesn't come on. Sigh.

We scored 3 goals in an away game. Probably should have scored at least 1 or 2 more. We were fine offensively, it's the defense that let us down this time.

I don't disagree. Out defence (or lack thereof) cost us the game. But if there were ever a time when Remy would (should) have come in use it was yesterday. Very surprising to see Salah picked ahead of him.

Once Drogba goes into his coaching role at the end of his contract we can have Remy as second choice and a youth player as third. Bamford, perhaps?

For the current season though, surely Remy would be best starting on the RW, farming out Schurrle and keeping Salah and Willian as back ups for if he's rested or Remy goes to #10, until we get a decent enough RW to replace him, ideally Reus.

Let's get this in perspective a little bit. Bamford won't, and should not be forced to be third choice if he wants to make it at Chelsea. If your going to have faith then he has to be brought back as a second choice to Costa with someone else filling in as a third. Bamford at Boro has done fucking brilliantly, he's worked his nuts off when called upon and not only that but Karanka has also tried to shoe horn him into a front three playing wide right with Kike central and Adomah left. I liken this to the position we are in with Cahill now, have balls and drop Cahill for Zouma, and like PB situation, if the main man isn't producing look to PB to step in and put faith in him.
