He has enough money and is probably wise enough to know that Chelsea, with FFP in mind, can only pay so much.

Lets not forget Cech will be moving on in the summer, we think, which is £170,000 off the wage bill + Drogba (Depending on whether we sign a replacement like for like ST)

Living is easy with eyes closed ... I also want to believe!

The Financial Fair Play is a joke. I think it is a rule to keep us scared because we have a president with money which he began stage presidents with lots of money in big teams that have followed after by Manchester City, PSG and other teams.

I see that if that punishment to Manchester City and PSG last year, but their punishments were ridiculous. Instead I see other teams like Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern making big signings without looking at the price of their players.

This is a great suspicion that is constantly hovering our team. Whenever Chelsea intends to do some signing is the time when some very strange intelligent appears and reminds us as a threat: "Chelsea Care, we will penalize to you with the rule of the Financial Fair Play".

Instead, City and PSG fichan new players and they flirt with everyone.

Besides the signing of Messi we would pay with the help of ADIDAS, TURKISH AIRLINES, FIFA GAME ... I also believe that Juventus owe us money by the issue of Mutu and the UEFA sanction and we can put them to use in that operation. At any step, the signing of Messi we would pay with advertising revenues as it has done for Real Madrid with Cristiano Ronaldo or Bale. The problem is when you pay a fortune for Fernando Torres and we can never recover that investment. With Messi would recover that investment with insurance advertising. I just remind you that RONALDINHO which seems a retired since 2006 player still moves a fortune of millions each year. Messi still moves more million and above remains to TOP PLAYER. His signing would not hurt us to the Financial Fair Play, but it would help us to keep our economic accounts perfectly.

I would like to see City, PSG, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern with the same fear that we have the rule Financial Fair Play.

No way this is gonna happen, not until sky sources confirmed it or Messi himself said he is no longer happy. I don't believe that Balague dude said, he is more like jumping in this uncertain situation and make a pure speculation on it. Everyone can say what he has said, nothing 'exclusive' from him.

Jake Cohen article before the summer: CHELSEA CAN EASILY SPEND 150£m, without sales. And STILL be a long way from any punishment.

http://weaintgotnohistory.sbnation.com/2014/6/5/5777740/chelsea-summer-transfer-budget

Don't know if he already counted the sale of David Luiz.. But he definitely not take with the sale of Lukaku.

We used 85£m and we get 85£.. Even if i counted the sale of Luiz the net spend would be -50£m.

In my eyes we have 100£ from last summer + sales of Cech, Salah, Shurrle?, Ramires/Mikel?, Moses, Bertrand, Ginkel, Romeu, Marin, Chalobah. +++ New sponsors and Turkish Airlanes. Adidas willing to help out. AND if we are winning PL or CL(both :P), there would be much money coming in.

So i dont understand why Jake Cohen always saying this on Twitter.

Lionel Messi would cost Chelsea £55m py on FFP books assuming £180m fee + 5-year deal at £350k pw. Simply cannot afford him w/o major sales.

The Financial Fair Play is a joke

If FFP is a joke, then why Chelsea was the biggest backer of it when making the rules?

That means Chelsea is a joke as well?

I think this is officially a RUMOUR and should not be on the WISHLIST.

Not yet imo. Media basically just relate every big money clubs with him as a random opinion on their article. We would be on the same place with says like, PSG fans forum have a 'Rumoured' tag in their Messi thread, we might laugh at them for doing that. We're not 'closer' to sign Messi than PSG or City or any club yet.

No, Chelsea never be a joke. In fact, Jose this year has argued that "the Financial Fair Play is not being met now and only benefits big teams like Real Madrid, Barcelona or Bayern".

I do not say that the idea of Financial Fair Play is a joke, I say the application, how is putting into practice, is a joke. I see many teams spending money like crazy clubs and they are not afraid of Financial Fair Play. But if we want to sign any great player, if want to rebuild the bridge or if we want to improve Cobham Training Centre, us if we have to fear the Financial Fair Play. I only claim that if this rule gets put to all teams.

Financial Fair Play for all the teams or for anyone

That is just a repost, you already posted the EXACT SAME THING here. Just because people didn't like it, doesn't mean people didn't read it.

Jose can say what ever he wants.

He is a clown at time talking and you be a fool for taking every word he says as the gospel.

The fact is that Chelsea was the biggest pusher for this FFP.

We wanted it more then any other team and we want it to work.

Despite what people say about City and PSG spending, they have been controlled. UEFA has imposed a limit and they have obey.

So it's starting to work.

As per Real Madrid, United and such well that was known before. Again Chelsea agreed to this, that only you can spend your revenue. So if your revenue is big you can spend just as long you don't produce a lose.

In the midst of all this crisis talk and Luis Enrique's faults at Barcelona, can I just say Messi is such a drama queen? I know he's a great player and all but it's like the minute he's not happy about something, he throws tantrums and the club have to appease him. Worst part is, the media doesn't even report on these things. If it was someone like Ronaldo, it would have been all over the papers, websites etc.

When was the last time you heard Messi was unhappy and is throwing a tantrum? He's been a model footballer for his entire career almost to a fault.

Much like Lampard his public image used to be spotless and because of that people have always considered him a nice guy but the reality seems to be something else entirely. Don't know whether being the best player in the world changed him at some point or if he has always been like that behind the scenes but judging by reports from the last few years he really is a cunt of the highest order.

Either way I'd still take him any day if it was a serious option but as of yet I'm far from being convinced that it is. Over the course of next few weeks we will see Luis Enrique sacked and replaced by some puppet who Messi has agreed to work with and before summer Messi will also be getting his annual contract extension with higher wages than before. We all know that's what is going to happen here so don't get your hopes up, lads.
