🇪🇸 Diego Costa

Whoscored gave Diego Costa a 7,8 for his performance against Tel Aviv.
This means a higher score than the ones from Matic (7,2), Hazard (7,3) and Fabregas (7,4).

I agree with them, apart from his lack of staying in the box he worked hard and fought, can't hate those things.

There were some heavy touches, can't change that. At least the dribbling at the end of the game was great.
In the future, it would be nice seeing him more in the box where in my point of view a striker has to be, but otherwise,
for me he's currently the club's best option.
I have seen the goals from Suarez, great strikes, but Costa is a different type of striker, no shame admitting to it.
Costa's always getting in trouble with defenders, but that's just his game, i have made peace with it a long time ago,

after all, reducing the opponent to 10 men isn't that bad, isn't it?!

So thats Gabriel and Ben Haim who Costa has got sent off this season! Hopefully Vertonghen or Alderweireld take the bait next.

Let him fall over. pathetic. doesn't deserve anything --but maybe a card or two himself.

Honestly don't know what's happened to him. He is getting worse every match.

No ratings, no amount of excuses are good enough. Needs to stArt playing like he fucking did during the start of the last season.

He is not only affecting himself but cesc too who relies on the striker making that direct run so that he can put him thru.

Play as a fucking striker.

Even Mou is finally seeing the awful positioning. And what does Costa do in the second half, after Mou told him in the dressing room? First of all, he fights back. But not on the pitch but in the dressing room and against the manager. And on the pitch minutes later he looks totally disinterested. Great spirit. Physical player my dear god...

What did Jose tell him in the dressing room? Source of Costa fighting back?

I saw Costa make quite a few runs in behind last night, and Cesc opted not to play it over the top to him, he still makes those direct runs, its just his movement inside the box which has been poor lately.

If he continues playing like this whole season, I want him out in the summer. When you take all good with the bad... Yeah.

i think this is where we are wrong.

we need 2 good strikers to compete with each other. no longer have an alpha striker whose name is carved in stone for our starting 11.

lukaku could have been an option but we stupidly sold him.

we need another good striker like lacazette/auba who can challenge costa as well as provide something different.

on the other hand, if he again EVER plays the way he played in the 2nd half, we should fucking reserve him.

so according to you, its cesc's, hazard's, willian's oscar's, matic's, pedro's and everyone else's fault that costa has been shit?

also, the important word here is "few". he should not be making a few or rather (to be precise) a couple of runs behind the defence. he should be doing that all day long instead of doing god knows what on the wings or in the midfield.

and before you say "service", we have been providing him with "service", its his positioning and his movement which have been awful. not just inside the box but pretty much all over the pitch.

no they have also been shit(apart from Willian, who isnt the most creative player), if you watched us play this season you would see our creativity has been shocking! the Norwich game was the first time we created lots of good chances in a game all season.

and no he shouldnt be making the same run over and over again it makes you predictable and easy to defend against.

or maybe it keeps the defenders busy and looking over their shoulder instead of having no outlet ever. and that is exactly what has been happening.

our wingers our reaching the by-line, only for there to be no one in the box to put in a cross.

willian has put in countless number of near post crosses only for costa to be standing stupidly at the edge of the box.

also, for a striker who hates to spend time in the box, i would atleast expect that striker to be good with the ball. costa is not. he cant create, he cant shoot from outside the box, and he does not want to be in the box. get the problem?

Yes, but what if Costa's departure is condition for getting some other great, maybe world-class striker? Money or *put-another-reason-there-are-plenty* wise.

Yes, we can have Remy and Costa competing for place. But can we have Costa and Cavani fighting for place? With our recent policy - I don't think so.

EDIT: Don't get me wrong, I WANT him to work his shits out. He is not my type of a player, I don't like him so much, but if he can be good for a club, I'll be happy that he succeeds.

why are you changing the subject to his movement in the box, i have already said his movement and anticipation in the box has been poor, we are talking about his direct runs that he makes, you said he doesnt makes them anymore, but i saw him making them yesterday and against Norwich.

i am not changing the subject. i specified EXACTLY that not only is his movement in the box shit, his overall movement and positioning has been shit. everywhere on the pitch. the fact that 99% of the fans say the same thing should be an indicator of it.

how many and how often, does he make those runs. definitely not enough for a striker who is more of a hindrance than anything else, he should be concentrating on doing something right.
