He didn't kick up a fuss in the first season under Conte and more importantly he forced himself into the team. He is a professional, regardless of what people think of him, he has never complained at being on the bench while here but instead always opted to say he will try force himself in and he did. His legs aren't what they used to be but he still can provide plenty to this team, selling him would be a huge mistake in my eyes. He is in a similar place to what Hamsik was in at Napoli, aging, people unsure if he could replicate his performances under a new manager, same old usual stuff but I think Sarri as a football manager who loves offensive football will love having an option like Cesc in his squad, in terms of technique and vision there aren't many MF players on the same level as him, so open him up in a team with 4/5 passing options, lots of interchanging, attacking intent and movement off the ball? He will definitely be useful from the start or from the bench. I don't think people appreciate what he can still offer because in a more reactive team with a 2 man MF he was too easily bypassed but in a 3 man MF with Jorginho and Kante? He will have more freedom, more licence to influence the play higher up the pitch because somebody is building from deeper (Jorginho). Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if he replicates his level from that first year we signed him.

People talk about finally getting an offensive minded manager to free Eden up or whatever but Cesc could be one of the biggest beneficiaries of Sarri coming in.

Everyone is so quick to dismiss him, but I don't want him to go anywhere.  And, I want him to get a new contract as well.

Okay, he's limited, yes, but IMO, that's why you have him do the thing he's really good at.  For me, that's finding the space and making the smart pass.  Not trying to be a Vidal or Nainggolan.  In our 343, he had to cover 40% of the pitch as a box to box player.  That was never his game, but he made it work as best he could and forced himself to be selected.

I think he is a great bench option to have.  Jorginho can't play every match, and no one else in the team can find the space and link up play like Fabs can.  He's the only back up for Jorginho.  He can also play further up the pitch in a pinch as well.

It saddens me seeing Cescy like towards the end of his amazing career but I just dont see how he could get some time right now even if he was fit.

I could see potential lineups where Kovacic is asked to play the CDM role, and Cesc is tasked with being the creative force....In situations where both Jorginho and Kante require rest.

I'd also be OK with Mat K as Jorgi Boy cause hes got a good pass plus great in defense. IF Barkley wasn't available put Cescy up front.

Barkley > Cesc alllllllllll day, allllllllll night

I still want to see if Ross can play RW. It sucks we only have 3 MF slots in the formation, as (I leave it to the others to come up with a good four MFer set-up) it would be great to have Kante, Kovacic, Jorginho AND Barkley all on the field at once.

What and just use 2 up front?

I'm not saying totally that Barkles > Cescy - just quicker and better defending. But I could see him as a Jorgi or Mat K backup in games

No, that wouldn't work well, I do not think it would. There really isn't a way to do a 3 4 3 unless we did something like like

the old Cruyff 3 4 3

RCB Azpi

Sweeper (AC or Luiz)

LCB Rudiger

then a diamond MF

Defensive pivot MF (who also provides support to the back 3 aka the Destroyer role aka Kante)

Offensive pivot MF (Jorginho, who is the key engine room)

2 CMF/AMF  Kovacic and Barkley, they are zonal roamers and can play wide or occasional one goes up the middle with the diamond shifting to cover

RW Pedro or Willian

LW Hazard

CF Morata or Giroud

I think that might work, seems pretty damn offensive to me, and also gives cover to Luiz

off course, you have no Alonso in that

Cant remember if it was an article or a video interview by some pundit but they said something I never thought I would hear again

That we was totally dominant using a 2 3 5 formation!

From all the defending we have done over the past 'X' years it brought butterflies to my stomach with excitement just thinking about it

I know we are juxtaposing but right now I reckon we dont fuck with whats working so far. OK we could/should try some tweeks when given the chance but we gotta get the lads passing as their priority first.

Zero tweeking (other than the player himself) to toss Barkley into the RW role.

I think he would be a beast, he is insanely fast, and pretty technical, and I really think he would score more, as he would have more open shots. I am a big fan, was so happy when we got him, I really think he needs to play upfront more.

As you have probably noticed, I don't rate a lot of English players, but he is one I do.

I rate (like, to be more accurate)

Kane (wish to fuck he wasn't on the team I hate more than any other on the planet)

Kyle Walker

Ryan Sessegnon

Ross Barkley

Trent Alexander-Arnold

Joe Gomez

CHO

RLC (I just wish he would play up to his insane athletic skills and body he has! so so so frustrating, same level frustrating as Morata)

Luke Shaw (to a point, as IF Alonso leaves and we cannot get  Alex Telles or José Gayà or Alejandro Grimaldo or Wendell (maybe), then I will absolutely take him (Shaw) as a LB. Alex Sandro is now, in reality, too old for me to advise to buy. If we got him next summer, we only get 17 months out of him before he hits 30, and as I have shown, there is fuckall for LB's. who are remotely WC who are over 28. As in TWO. Marcelo (who is shit for defence, do NOT want him) and Jordi Alba (again, I do NOT want him)

Angus Gunn (we need him as our b/u keeper, if the new rules from Brexit fucking clamp down on foreign players, and yes, I know he is part Scottish, so not pure English)

Mason Mount

James Maddison

Lewis Cook

Dujon Sterling

Fikayo Tomori

Kasey Palmer

I'm feel pretty much the same about all of them

Totally open to giving Barkles a shot at RW for the same reasons you said

My fave LB eould be Telles in this team. mkust have got peeps here fed up wamting him but I dont see us having a chance of him. I also do like Shaw but I think that boat has sailed to as I', sure Manure will give him a new contract what with Maureens turn around on him.

So we either stump up for one of theses big names or we go down a peg or 2

We could easily get Telles, but Marina and twats don't rate him, nor did they rate the perfect Sarriball RB, João Cancelo

Chelsea are in danger of losing Cesc Fabregas, 31, on a free transfer to either Inter Milan or AC Milan in January with the Spaniard's contract at Stamford Bridge set to expire at the end of the season. (Express)

I don't think many Chelsea fans will be losing sleep over this move away from the bridge
