  1. 1. How do you feel the season went? Rate out of 5...

    • 1/5 - a terrible season, we fell well short of expectations.
    • 2/5 - not a great season. Some positives but overall a disappointment.

    • 3/5 - average. Not bad for a team in transition but would have liked some silverware nonetheless!
    • 4/5 - good. A positive blueprint for the future has been laid, and there were some famous wins as well (6-0 vs Arsenal, 2-0 vs PSG, etc.)
    • 5/5 - exceeding expectations! I didn't think we'd come close to achieving what we did! Bring on next season!

It's just a nice feeling ending one season knowing who the guy in charge next year is going to be. We know exactly which areas we need to improve having already improved other positions, the young guys like Oscar, Hazard, Azpi etc. have that little bit more experience of being in a title race and getting to the business end of the Champions League and I'd say we've also had great success with the young guys who have either been on loan or won the Youth Cup (and hopefully the u21 league too).

My thoughts below...

Overview: A season of transition that we all expected. Vying for the title and falling just short, and reaching the last four of the Champions League, were both nice bonuses. Arsenal have been in transition for the best part of eight years and haven't once threatened to look like title winners. We're in just the second year of our transition and, with a little more luck, we might have won the league this year! Not at all bad for a team undergoing extensive change on and off the pitch

Most Memorable Moment: one, and only one - José coming home.

Worst Moment: People have identified the Sunderland game and the Atletico second leg as low points. But for me, the lowest point was our failure to beat West Ham, back in February. That was the night we lost the title, because it exposed our fatal flaw - our inability to break down compact teams. After that, moreorless everyone tried to do the same against us, apart from idiots like Rodgers, Wenger and Pellegrini who thought they could fight fire with fire. That night exposed how frail we are in an attacking sense, and after that, us dropping points against West Brom, Villa, Palace and Sunderland, in retrospect, looked inevitable. I think everyone always felt more comfortable playing the big teams than the little sides that just sit back and defend.

Best player: Azpilicueta. Cahill a close second. John Terry also magnificent. Hazard far too inconsistent to warrant inclusion.

Best goal: Torres vs Bayern. Incredible build-up and a smart finish past the world's best goalkeeper.

Season in a word: Expected!

He's going to write an article on it tomorrow, breaking it down completely financially then will use some guesstimate to guess how much Mou could potentially have for the summer this season.

It certainly means we can comfortably spend quite a bit this summer though, especially considering the TV deal will increase even further next season (not sure if he's already put that in there yet but we'll see).

Yep and here is the article

Chelsea's earnings set to increase 30% to an incredible £340m, despite trophyless season

Chelsea's earnings last season. The club earned £255.8m in 2012-2013

the club did earn an extra £84m this year

Last year the club recorded a loss of 49m, right?

84m extra earnings is really a lot of money and probably means the club will be posting a healthy profit for the 13/14 season. My estimate would be around 15 million pounds in the black.
