I'm actually surprised how much most people are against buying someone like Welbeck. I have a lot of mates who support United and they all insist Welbeck should be a starter. I've also noticed when I've watched United that they are a much better side with Welbeck in the side.

He certainly shouldn't be considered as a first choice central striker but he is certainly a more than capable striker to have in the squad, and the likelihood is that we may be looking for more than one striker this summer.

He's homegrown which is a massive bonus when we could lose some of our current homegrown players this summer (Terry, Lampard, Cole, Bertrand) and therefore we must ensure our quota is ok.

Although not a natural finisher, he does provide huge work rate, serious pace and an unpredictability. His game is also really suited to a counter attacking system, making him a very good option for us either against the big teams or when we are winning in games to stretch teams.

If we were to buy Diego Costa and Welbeck this summer, I would be happy with that. If we were interested the biggest problem would be buying from United, after we took £37m from them for Mata.

Danny pretty good imo. He has the ability to do the amazing and holds the ball up 100000x better than Lukaku. Complete team player.

However as a few people alluded to, he does make the wrong decision quite a bit (similar to Sturridge).

Fuck me - seriously? Wellbeck is SHIT

Couldn't score in a brothel...

Anybody who wants him - I'm sorry you're not aiming high enough!

Most of the people want him cause he'd be a homegrown squad player. (assuming Moses and Bertrand are gone in the summer...we need replacements)

Dude - we have 20 or 30 'homegrown' players in our reserves and loan teams. We don't need this donkey ;) he's not even worth £100 week...

Welbeck's movement is one of his best assets. His problem is when he's actually on the ball and makes the wrong decision most the time. Kalou similarities are strong.

Was just about to say the exact same. Very similar to Kalou: Good work rate and decent movement. On the ball, though, he's a nightmare. If any thing, Kalou's finishing is much better.
