Agree with Term and Blue Master.

We should keep Cole as left back in a sorted position for us at the moment which is a pretty rare thing in our squad right now

I'd would however consider selling him is some-one comes in with a stupid offer (IE over £25m) as that type of money for a LB approaching 32 should not be shirked at.

Sell Cole? WTF, how did we get onto this? There's absolutely no need to move Cole on. He's been playing great and is important for us. He has another 2 years in him and then Bertrand can take his spot. Although we should start using Cole less and rest him alot more.

Really isn't that hard to see. Cole wasn't very good until the big games at the end of the season came around and now his price is driven up. With FFP and all, cash in on him and promote Bertrand. If not this summer, next.

Football isn't all about 'cashing in', FFS have some Loyalty!

I'd sell him for 15.

Criminal. Best left back on the planet, by a magnitude of several dozen. It's just amazing how shit left backs are these days. He's so valuable, I'd take no less than 35 million when you look at the fact that he would have simply been a good left back 10-15 years ago but instead is the best of his generation.

Cashing in would be a good idea, since in a few years his value will probably drop dramatically. But the problem is that we'd have to find a backup to Bertrand, I believe it wouldn't be so easy to find someone decent. I say it's best to leave LB position untouched this summer and concentrate more on wings, midfield, right back and striker (if Drogba leaves and Lukaku goes on loan).. it would be too much.

Cole is 31, we should replace him sooner rather than later.

Look at the state of current left backs going around. Cole will probably be the best of the lot even at 37, its frightening how just 5-10 years ago you could have reeled off the names of 5-6 world class left backs, all of whom were similar in ability and today you'll struggle to name 3 or 4 that are at the top and are similar in ability.

Cole is class on his day. He was pretty poor for most of the season, and has been very good in the last few CL games. For obvious reasons.

You have Cole and Lahm. Then you drop down to Marcelo alone. Then, you don't drop so much as freefall several thousand metres down to Pereira, Evra (), Cissokho, Assou-Ekotto, and a whole host of other rubbish. And beneath all them are the up and coming youngsters like Bertrand, through sheer virtue of inexperience. If we sell Cole we'll have to look at the third tier of left backs, there's no way we're signing Lahm or Marcelo.

What you are saying would have made perfect sense if we had someone who could step in right now and perform as well as Cole has over the years; and I just don't think Bertrand is quite there yet. We need to give him another 2, maybe 3 seasons as an understudy. He'll still get plenty of exposure, perhaps 10-25 games a season.

He was poor at the start of the season because of AVB's insistence to play with a high line and open attacking football that left him exposed. Terry's form was pretty poor earlier too but has gotten back near his best in recent times. Should we be looking to sell him too?!!
