"Jose is able to do what Conte clearly isn't..Namely and bring the best out in players"...

Wait. What did you just say!?

I know. Apart from his obvious deficiencies in logical thinking, this guy's irrational and OTT fondness for Matic does not only blur his view on Matic himself but on all surrounding circumstance.

@TheWiz you definitely should seek professional help. This is getting out of control!

40m plus no Fabinho to Utd? Sign me up.

i wish we sign fabinho. He is the kind of player we need.

And in regards to the usefulness that Marshal Matic could be to us, I beg to differ. On the bench, you need a series of different kinds of player — kinds of player which the Serbian Gliding Machine is not. You need one or two experienced players that can add that little extra thanks to their years of experience at top flight level, but also because their are characters that other less experienced players can rally behind. This is something that can be said of Fabregas (and also explain why he should be on the bench and not in the first team — or Pedro for that matter). This is also why Danni Alves would have been a good player to have.

You also need one or two jack-of-all-trades which can allow you to have flexibility during games and in-between them. And how God, the Serbian Magician is anything but that — actually, aside of maybe Courtois, he is the most unidimensional player we have at our disposal. On the contrary, Pedro, Willian and Alonso nay Moses are players that fit the bill.

Additionally, it is important to have one or two "specialists", that is, a player that has some type of quality in abundance. The best thing would be to have an attacking player with a lot of speed and/or trickeries to add dynamics late in the games where we need to score. On the contrary, a big, tall and strong defensive minded player to close the game when we have to — and that who is a good header as well. The Serbian Control Tower may be tall but he is not strong, nor dynamic or good with his head (and not only to strike the ball !!).

Finally, you need a Super Pipo to nick goals every now and then — and Super Pipo, Super Matic is not.

The Serbian Superstar is none of that. He is a terrible player for the first team and an even more terrible player for the bench. He is a painfully average player with no significant and glaring quality aside of looking gauche ; a player that should play in a midtable team God knows where.

Fabinho give flexibility because he plays two positions and he plays them better that what we have. He plays RB very well(better that moses) and at the same time plays CDM well and at the moment better than Matic.

That is the player we should chase because with him in the starting line up we could change formations and use other options without making substitutions. That's flexibility

If we are talking about our best player, then yes it should be mandatory to not sell him to an English team. In any other case, if the offer is good, then we should sell him. The situation with de Bruyne has shown us that doing this kind of calculation is inefective and that if an English team realy wants one of our players, they will buy him anyway one year later from that foreign team. Had we sold him directly to Manchester City, the current situation would have been the same nonetheless — aside of us having 30 million pounds additional in our pockets.

So let's keep Matic, and what will happen ? Manchester United will regardless buy another midfielder — a midfielder that might be better than the Serbian Marshal. And as for us, we will have on our hands a player who is, a fortiori, not desired ; and who thus will waste a place in the squad.

So then let's sell him abroad for a lesser price ! Manchester United will nonetheless get their new midfielder — a midfielder that, once again, might be better than Matic. And if the Madlić of midfielders is truly desired by Manchester United, they will buy him one year later.

End result : at best, they have their midfielder and we win a hefty amount of money ; at worst, they will have their midfielder nonetheless and we will have nothing but a non desired player on our hands. This kind of scheming amounts to pissing in the wind or to try to stop a brook with your bare hands. It is useless, it does not work and is probably a waste of incomes more than anything.

As for the notion of "helping" them, it is highly debatable — if anything, it is more probably a disservice. On the contrary, a real "help" which we could provide them with would be to keep a crippling liability. So let them have their Serbian Marshal as it would not change a damn thing on the big picture and let us get rid of this average player and have good money — and most importantly, let us enjoy intricate interplays between Post-Afro Fellaini and Marshal Matic.

The only regret for me as a chelsea fan is the sale of de Bruyne and thats all because if we had been calm a bit we would have had a younger fabregas in our squad but the other players we sold apart from them playing the revenge game when we face their teams and some getting to score us or boss us around i their positions ex ryan bertrand( another player i regret a bit about knowing that he is a champions league winner and might end up at Mancity) and maybe Oriol Romeu who would have been a good squad player, the others don't really matter(Salah, Cuadrado & Co). i was angry with Mourihno thou when he sold Schurrle. He would have had a good career if we didn't end it buy selling him to wolfsburg.

For 40m+ i mean come on there is no way we are going to want to keep Matic. What i would like to see is chelsea use that 40m to land Naby Keita of RB Leipzig or Kondogbia of Inter. they will good additions to the squad.

Not sure how I feel about this. I could see Matic fitting-in quite well alongside Herrera and Pogba, as the two of them offset his weaknesses very nicely. That being said, Fabinho looks to be the superior, more dynamic and more versatile player, so if they get Matic instead of him we may actually benefit (both from the money we receive, and due to Man Utd's midfield being weaker than it has the potential to be).

It's a shame that it's come to this, though, as Matic looked truly world-class in his first year at Chelsea. Whilst he's contributed well at times since then (particularly in the first-half of our most recent season), I can only agree with all those who claim that his overall standard of play has fallen quite considerably: he's now a solid 7/10 player rather than the 9/10 player he was threatining to be. Maybe he can improve his level in the near future (here, or at Man Utd?). I suppose we'll see fairly soon.

I don't even know anymore, what to reply to your ever growing personal Statements directed toward me.

I'd be happy for you if you would come out with clear Sense and Footballing Arguments at least once ... Your hatred towards Matic and your irrational Wish of unloading him to another Team blurs completely your knowledge of football, which in itself, is not much more than the quantity of a Nutshell.

I do mean, what I say  ... That is, when Conte says ... "With my help, Matic can be (one of) the best Midfielders in Europe" .... I take him by his Word.

Maybe you don't do that ... because you don't care ore mybe you don't even know what those Words mean ... But I do ... And if he says something like that but a Season later a big Chunk of Chelsea Fans want to see Matic kicked out of the Team ... That means Conte has failed (to some extent).

I don't know how to explain it to you in a more detailed, understandable way ...

However, all that aside ... I know what an exceptional Talent Matic is ... Everbody with an Eye fore Football can see that .. That's why Conte didnt want to sell him, when he took over .. And that's why Mourinho wants to buy him again. Now, how much more Logic do you need?

relax bro we get you but look at this. Conte has to work on him and needs time to do so but at chelsea time is not a luxury. would you rather keep 40m+ maitc over 35m+ Bakayoko. @28 its difficult to learn new things but @22 its easier to do so. The bottom line is, it is more economical for Matic to leave for 40m+ @28 and get someone who honestly for me i see as better off than matic since he has proved so with he first champions league performance which the biggest stage to show your worth and Matic has totally do nothing in the 2 he has played in. And the guy is 22.

I'm as relaxed as a Pillow, no worries.

What Conte needs to do, is get into his Head to lure the best Performances out of him. I'm not saying that Matic never has desolate Performances, sure he does and I'll be the first one to jump out and admit it.

He can't teach Matic how to Tackle, how to Dribble, how to read the Game, how to envision a Situation or a Pathway for a Pass before it actually occurs ... It's all there already ... He just needs to do the mental Work with him.

I don't work at the Bridge, I have no Idea what the actual Problem might be ...

But one of you Guys have to explain me ... How is it possible, that Matics plays a dry, unpassionate Game against a Team like Burnley only to rule the Midfield by chaining Players like Pogba, Fellaini ore Herrera into Submission in the next Game???

How is that possible ... I am not a Football Professional .. But if there is no mental Roadblock .. I don't know what it is ..

And it's Conte's job to solve that ... And if he can't do it personally .. then there are Staff Members who can help ... Every Player is a Human Being .. Noones a Machine ..

As fore Bakayoko ... Only think I can do really is repeat myself ... Bakayoko cannot replace Matic adqeuately ... When both have their best Day, Bakayoko cannot carry Matic's Waterbottle on the Pitch ...

Chelsea would be taking a big risk and losing a crucial player by allowing Nemanja Matic a £40million transfer to rivals Manchester United, according to Mario Melchiot.
