Chelsea v Man City

If Chelsea start ponderously (as per usual for the last 5 years), the result is likely decided by whether ManCity pounce on Chelsea early in the match.

Should start a flat 4-3-3, use Mikel or Oscar in CM with Lamps and Ramires. Put Hazard Left, Willian Right, Torrres/Eto'o in the middle.

What do you mean "Its Mourinho mate", he is renowned for not playing youth, never mind against Man City or Arsenal. Omeruo will be training with the first team because he failed to get a loan deal and he's playing with the u21s while also training with the first team. Unless Cahill and Luiz both get injuries, then he won't be anywhere near the first team in those games.

In case you've forgotten Varane's age, he's only 20.

Why are a fair few of you saying we will take a draw? We are the home team, they aren't as physical under Pellegrini and despite our overall record against City of late being shite, we have actually won 2 of our last 3 games against them at Stamford Bridge.

If we were at The Ethiad it would be a different story, but unless it's the 2nd leg of a tie when we won away or a match that secures us the title, i can never be happy with a draw at home.

Because when both teams are at their best, City are by far better. No one in the league comes close to the football that City can play when they are at their best, the kind of football that they played at OT this season. If they play like they did at OT, we honestly can't match their tempo and abilities; their squad is simply better. Plus City tend to have developed a knack of playing their best games against us in recent years.

If you factor in that we have 7-8 consecutive relatively easy, all winnable, matches in the league after this one, yeah, I'll chop your hand off right now for a boring 0-0 draw.

Early goal for us and things really could get interesting.

No Thank you. In 4 of the last 6 matches between us and City, the side that scored the first goal went on to lose the match. The two exceptions were the 0-0 draw at SB and the 2-1 defeat at Wembley last year.

One may argue whether Citeh are better than Chelsea.

I agree, Chelsea have not had much success against them lately, but Chelsea at their best can match Citeh any day, I feel.

I do understand what u mean by saying their best but here come the question have u come to see our best because our best is yet to been seen if u ask me so if am expecting something for our team to display with each passing game it will be our best

I thought City thrashed United at home...not at Old Trafford.

And you can't really use that game as City playing at their best...United have looked clueless in every match under Moyes.

Yet we didn't manage to "trash" them. Or beat them, by any means.

The only reason Chelsea did not win against manures, Jose played for the draw, I feel. By my standards, it was a mistake, then.

Manures were ready for the taking, I felt.

Currently, Chelsea & Citeh do have the best squads in PL, I feel. It´s just a matter of who performs better on Sunday.

Whoever scores first, it will go a long way, in my view.

Early goal for us and things really could get interesting.

I dont think an eaely goal will do us good....I dont think we can handle City on full attack mode for 80-85min, even in Stamford Bridge.

However, I do think it is crucial to score first!

Lets fucking win this, I am confident we will. :D

City slowly build from the back. So we are going to find it tough to break them down, cause recent goals suggest Jose's definitely tilting more to a counter-attacking philosophy. Score an early goal, and City will open up by pushing more players up. That is our chance. Schalke fell for the same, hopefully Pellegrini falls for it too.

Since Chelsea can not handle Citeh on full attack, but it is crucial to score first for Chelsea, then I do not get it here.

I'm not saying we can't beat them, of course we can, all I'm saying that if both teams are playing at their best, City are more likely to come out on top.

Alright, let me rephrase that: The best I've seen this Chelsea team play is no where the best I've seen this City team play.

Right, it was at the Etihad. Yes, united were very poor, but City were incredibly good. They could have 7 or 8 in that game. I don't that we can do that to united even at SB.

So you don't want us to score first? errr...okay.

If it's an early goal in the first 15-20 mins then, no. If we score we'll sit back and we can't keep City out for 75 minutes.

As we both know, every game is played differently & i value your opinion, but I believe Chelsea at their best can beat Citeh on any day. We need to wait & see on Sunday. The way I see it, get closer to Ya-Ya, mark Aguero closely & Chelsea will prevail.

I hope the boys prove me wrong. Komapny is blow to their defense, but we'll need a couple of Silva, Toure and Aguero to be having an off day. The problem with City is that they have too many threats to mark.
