Samuel Eto'o

I'd probably prefer Martinez in terms of age and the fact he'll get better as hes 26 or 27, going into his peak now.

I think it's far wiser to spend little on an experienced striker like Eto'o who will bring something new to our squad as a stop gap which will enable us to go for a proper striker again next season instead of spinning £35m on a striker who's similar to what we've got already.

Thats true, I mean if we are getting Eto'o for 6m like what has been said then I'd prefer to spend 6m on someone as opposed to someone who will cost 35m. Its just will in say 2 years or so if Eto'o leaves we are still really going to be looking for another striker even if we keep Lukaku, Torres and Ba (the last two aren't great).

Not only that, it gives us another year to see if Lukaku can be the man.

How we moved from Falcao, Cavani, Lewandoski, Rooney, Martinez to Etoo I do not know. This striker business has been really handled badly by Chelsea

To be fair, we might never made a bid for Falcao, Cavani, Lewandowski and Martinez at all. All of the rumours most likely speculated by media only. The only concrete is Rooney. Eto'o we will see.

He has came on in 2 of the 3 games so far, he is getting slowly nurtured into the mentality of having to win every game you play which is the right thing to do, he is getting a chance this season, their is a big difference between getting a chance and pining your hopes on someone, which half this forum seem to want us to do with Lukaku.

RVP and Ronaldo spent a lot of their first season at Arsenal and United on the bench (sometimes not even coming on) and they didn't end up too bad, did they?

He had to win every game since he was 16 years old. Anderlecht wins one title every other year and if they don't, it's crisis. He was dropped into the first team after the second week of the competition I think. This man doesn't need to be protected, he's not a normal 20 year old. And when Van Persie joined Arsenal, there was fierce competition from other strikers.

The thing that makes me mad here is that Romelu is by far the best striker Chelsea has right now, but this is not recognised by the staff. Experience doesn't matter, the best guys should be on the pitch. How can you not agree to that?

He'll be loved here, I'm sure.He is a top top professionnal, loves money yes, but also a very good striker and a warrior, will fit at Chelsea.

I don't think I will love him, I'll support him as a Chelsea player but I think he is mercenary. That is if he does sign indeed.

How can a top top striker who has won the treble with two different teams in different leagues be a mercernary? He's earned it and deserves it.

If you support a player, it means you are not hating the player, and that's the most important things.Love will come if he scores important goals and show passion and commitement, we need winners and Samuel is one.

we dont need winners, we need a proper striker. and samuel isnt the one we need. hopefully we dont bow down and give him a 2-year contract. 1 year with another as an option and thats more than enough. next summer we really need to buy a top-class striiker.
