Gilvorak 3,734
@WhoScored: Andre Schürrle: Missed more clear cut chances (20) than any other player in the Bundesliga this season, whilst he scored only Hope KDB f**ks off when his loan is over. Emenalo and co are clueless.
Kojo 4,676
I've read some of the comments on this players thread...and I still don't see what the big fuss is about.I get that he's still young and he can improve his overall game...but he's still a squad player at best.I also understand that we lack squad depth...but is spending 20 million on squad depth the right thing to do?I'd be happy with Hazard, Mata, Oscar and De Bruyne taking turns as the 3 attacking midfielders...as long as we SOLVE our CM/DM issues. You're looking at it wrong, squad depth is vital as it comes, just because you think the player is 20 million doesn't mean his place isn't 20 million. Whatever helps with the team and doesn't let it become a consistent competition and rotational is worth it.Also if you've noticed, all them attackers you mentioned are all the same, Schurlle adds something different to his game. DanishBlue 426
I don't know that much about this player and I haven't really seen him play.I trust the club and if the club wants to buy him then I'm looking forward to see him play in pre-season. nono 791
Well at least he's very quick. You can't teach speed. Also he is ONLY 22 years old. So he is really yet to hit his full potential. With his speed, he can become a monster player maybe if he just improves. Go to the Bale transfer thread and you'll see that the opening post is about Bale "struggling" at Tottenham. Not saying he can become Bale or anything, but with his pace there is potential for a much better player than he is right now.I don't think we will spend 20m pounds. Must be less than that. Meanwhile KDB gets experience in the Champions League at Leverkusen. I don't really like this deal to be honest. Mostly because I think De Bruyne can start straight away in place of Lampard. But I can at the same time see the board's side to it. Nothing much we can all do really, except hope that Mourinho doesn't like loaning De Bruyne and wants to make him a part of the team (unlikely imo). cujo101 75
Gutted if KDB doesn't return to the club for the new season. £15m+ & KDB? Not a good deal imo - as nono says, KDB would have featured in a decent amount of games this season.
laeth 527
Someone at Chelsea REALLY likes this lad; we have been after him for a while now. After our signings as of late - I'm wiling to assume Schurrle has potential.
Hutcho 8,443
Gives us something different, is a part of a great German team, can play at striker as well. The price tag may be a little steep if the reports are true, but tbh i am quite happy with this signing. Loaning KDB back isn't great as he could play here in his own right. We lacked squad depth last season, and Schurlle gives us a bit of a different option. It's not an area that was most important to be strengthening, but the window is gonna be a long one. Another good quality signing, who should fulfil a role. He also will have tremedous re-sale value, so rather this than buy a 32 year old, who we wouldn't be able to shift if we want to sell him down the line. Schurrle would add something to our attack..he's a team player and hopefully under the guidance of Mourinho, he becomes more consistent in the coming seasons. sainttourist 68
Confused why so many people against this transfer. Young lad with great range strike, hard worker, also can play everywhere in attack. 22 and he is star of the team that come 3rd in Bundesliga, ten points clear to 4th and one point behind CL finalist.Am also think it is good move for KdB, playing for CL side in same league, only can make him better player, and he definitely will get much playing time. At the end we can have two world class players in the team.To be honest I expect that this lad will surprise many of you, he is different class from what we have on the bench this year. We need quality squad depths, it will only benefit for the team. In fact, i think we too much care about some young lads. Just reseach top teams squads, all of them have top players on the bench, not past it Benayouns and some under 18 with no expiriens. We need that competition in the team to be successful. Gilvorak 3,734
How is Scurrle a team player? One of the most selfish players you'll ever see. He's basically a poor mans Sturridge but better work-rate.

One of the most selfish players you'll ever see. He's basically a poor mans Sturridge but better work-rate.So he is like sturridge with better work rate.Sturridge is a very good player with a lot of potential as i am sure he will probably prove with liverpool. So a sturridge with better work rate sounds goof to me. Don't get how he is a poor mans sturridge but whatever.

Schurrle would add something to our attack..he's a team player and hopefully under the guidance of Mourinho, he becomes more consistent in the coming seasons. You should watch some games, he's actually a good player with a lot of work rate, I think we lack attackers who are good at work rate. The person you quoted earlier that Lampard guy who is german, no offence to him but I've never seen him say a good word about anyone, especially germans or any player from the bundesliga. Stingray 9,441
I don't see it. I really don't. Squad player yes, worth all the fuss, money and perhaps losing KDB. Never in a million years.
11Drogba 2,000
I think he is the kind of player that Mourinho likes. With Schurrle and Cavani we'll become taller and stronger.
BlueLion. 21,491
I think this kid will pleasantly surprise the KDB-brown-nosers.
ulsterchelsea 3,221
He wont because as you well know Alex, KDB is the reincarnation of christ! Im genuinely happy with this deal, think KDB has plenty of time to come here and hear some very good things about Schurrle from people who actually watch him
