Madmax 9,219
We need another quality striker. Why? There's Studge on the bench. And as it is we play a one striker system. In the summer yes, but not now.
MikeCFC 45
So what? It was his first major injury. Don't care about World Cup but he did miss out lol.I can see why Chelsea could be interested in Torres.(a) he's settled in England, albeit a different City(b)he's proven, knows the premier league like the back of his hand.So need for adjustment or a player whinging like a 5yo that they're 'homesick'.This has got to be Ancelotti's decision, and judging by Ancelotti's vibes in his press conferences, this doesn't seem the case.I just don't want us getting mugged off in this transfer. termninja 5,290
We need another quality striker. You are right. We only have Drogba and when he's not playing well we look like a sword with a dull blade. And Torres is a world class proven striker whocould help us more for the rest of this season (if he doesn't get injured) then Lukaku/Neymar who would need to settle first, get used to football etc.

And as it is we play a one striker system. In the summer yes, but not now.we can change it to 4-4-2. 4-3--3 may not work for us anymore or we need some Plan B. Torres is a class act and undoubtedly one of the best striker in the world if not the best. It will be great for us if Drogba and torres play together. However this deal will not go through in my opinion.

Drogba is strugling with his fitness now and i think playing him all the time for the rest of this season could be really bad for him. Not to mention that he is 33, and Nico who is quality but inconsistent is 32. I'm all for giving Danny a chance, but is he capable of leading the line if Drogba doesn't play well or gets injured or...
Madmax 9,219
With Sturridge, we'll never find out if we don't give him a chance, will we?

neel 257
Sturridge can not take the lead. and problem lies there. We have a generation gap in our frontline. Having torres in there is the best option . Sadly it is too late
MikeCFC 45
Our ideal signing would be Andy Carroll, which just could happen. This boy is going to increase his goal tally season by season and knows himself that he will only stagnate at Newcastle. There's an Ipswich player too that everybody is talking about too. While overseas,Auguero or Pato would be good signings.Eventually we will need replacements for Drogba,Lampard etc but it has to be the right replacements and more importantly the replacements must be sanctioned by a manager that has stability and confidence from the boardroom.I thought Roman would of learned from this by now.Obviously not!.Sturridge can not take the lead. and problem lies there. We have a generation gap in our frontline. Having torres in there is the best option . Sadly it is too lateTrue. We should of signed Torres 5/6 years ago when Athletico Madrid put him up for sale.I think Jose wanted to sign him as well. eldo 868
I don't see all the hype about Carroll. You men Wickham? He is 18. Same shit as Mitrovic, Prosinek with nly difference that he hes a bit more games under his belt. And i've heard that he has still a lot to learn.Speaking of Carroll, haven't Spurs made a bid for him? Cosmin 2,484
He is a good player, but you can't give your best when your team can't win a trophy. Torres is missing the motivation, and he could find that in our team. I'd like to see him in blue.
