dodojojo 510
He already has an autobiography! A Liverpool one, I read it, its really good! The new one is based on the old one--translated into Spanish and updated with sections on the national team and transfer to Chelsea. Plus new photos. Yes, his bio was actually in English. This is his first bio in his native language.
dodojojo 510
From Marca, translated:Torres was roundly booed during Spain's defeat to England at Wembley last week and he expects it to be in the firing line from the away fans at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, but says that his former club's supporters will always be special to him."I've no doubt [the abuse] will be a lot worse," Torres told Marca."The Liverpool fans have only paid attention to what the club made them see and they don't know the true story of my transfer to Chelsea."That's why I don’t hold any grudges; they will always be special to me."Torres became a Kop idol for his lethal form during his first three seasons with the club, scoring 56 Premier League goals in just 79 appearances while playing under Rafael Benitez. But when the Spanish manager was replaced by Roy Hodgson, his form dipped and it has not fully recovered since his move to the capital."Nobody has understood me like Rafa Benitez," he said."I owe him a lot. He is a fantastic coach. His teams go out on to the pitch with just one aim: to compete."The sensation they transmit is that, with less [of a] budget, they can beat the biggest teams."The 27-year-old will be hoping to show something like his best form when Liverpool visit Stamford Bridge on Sunday, with the player acknowledging the importance of the fixture as Chelsea look to stay in the title race.Torres' former club have picked up only one win in their last four Premier League matches, but the forward believes that they are heading in the right direction."[Liverpool] are a team in transition and the change doesn't come overnight," he said."They need time. They have made a significant investment and, like in any project, they need to establish themselves."We can't allow ourselves the luxury of losing any more points. It will be a very special game and atmosphere, too, without a doubt."With only two Premier League goals this season, Torres has not caught fire in a Chelsea shirt yet but dismissed concerns that he was feeling the pressure of his transfer fee and insisted he remains optimistic about his future."You place the responsibility on yourself, it's something you can't control," he said."Also, how much I cost doesn't depend on me, it's the clubs who decide what they are willing to pay and it is they who come to an agreement."I have been lucky enough to experience many wonderful situations over the last 10 years, but I am confident the best is yet to come.Torres, don't bother, the haters are going to keep hating.Hope the Bridge doesn't let LFC supporters abuse Torres too much. His form has been so inconsistent it's hard to predict what he will do. I hope to be pleasantly surprised and he brings back his form against Man United/Swansea (without the misses and red cards of course). LDN Blue 7,903
Then he should've followed Benitez to Inter But no, it's good to see he's trying to show some grace. It's a shame those "fans" won't ever see that in him again. Would rather have "no history" than classless history.

Popular Post! francozola 2,040 Posted November 17, 2011 Popular Post! Share Posted November 17, 2011 The way Liverpool reacted to the whole thing was pathetic. They made it seem as if it was a last minute betrayal and they weren't given any time, whatever. It's a FACT that Torres was disillusioned with the club during all that Hicks and Gillette nonsense. He was promised many things by them and they didn't deliver. They let their best players in Alonso, Arbeloa, etc go. He probably wanted out at the beginning of the 10/11 season but decided to give it some time. Then he was managed by Roy Hodgson... I mean come on!The boardroom saga went on for soooo long. He was suffering injury after injury. And you know what? One of the few decent games he had in 10/11 was against us at Anfield. I've got this feeling that that performance by him, was a message to Roman to buy him and that he's still "got it".Why the transfer was so last minute: Liverpool were trying to sign Suarez for 20odd million and if Ajax had known that they were sitting on 40 or so mil (which would have been the original transfer price if Newcastle hadn't demanded 35m for that lump of shit), they would have asked for much more. Queen Kenny also must have blocked the transfer til the very last minute, as he wanted the LFC supporters to turn on Torres so as to justify the transfer. "He bottled it, he betrayed us" yada yadaY'know what? FUCK THEM. I've never hated anything as much as I hate Liverpool Football Club. I want them to burn and I hope it begins on Sunday with a Torres hattrick. Krypt, BlueLion., Madmax and 8 others

dodojojo 510
Like I said, don't bother. Even when he is gracious about them, they follow up with 'fucking wanker'. They just want to live in their own little Liverpool world where the Torres transfer happened with the cartoon villains--Torres, RA and Chelsea conspiring to bring down heroic Kenny Dalglish and Liverpool. Every game they play brings light to our dark universe.

Share Posted November 17, 2011 He made a choice for his career and Liverpool fans are too short sighted so they will see it as a betrayal. people do it in there jobs everyday but in football you are expected to be loyal to the people who pay to see you.Don't think the LFC fans felt the same righteous indignity when he left his boyhood club Atletico to play CL football. Funny, the sentiment was more like 'yeah, he's a great player, he can't be expected to stay with a mediocre team, he can only do so much for them, etc...'i am sure we will have it happen to us and we will feel the same , but thats football.Maybe, but I generally get the feeling that Chelsea fans are much more level-headed and do not have the enormous sense of entitlement that LFC fans have. I think if Torres performs well and helps win titles, Chelsea fans can bid him farewell with grace when the time comes. Whereas LFC fans can't believe he didn't fall on his sword for them. They just can't comprehend that LFC isn't the be all and end all for Torres. That in his world, his life club is Atletico and if he could leave them for CL football, why would LFC have a stronger sway over him? If he wanted to be adored and not compete for titles, he would have stayed in Madrid.Speaking of betrayal, Torres took a huge leap by leaving his boyhood club and risked damaging his relationship with those fans to go to LFC. He did so because he thought he was joining a world class team. Instead he won nothing in 3 1/2 years, endured a farcical ownership situation and injuries that may plague the rest of his career. So yeah, betrayal is a 2 way street scousers. You don't have a right to ask Torres to sacrifice his career because of a fucked club situation that was out of his control. Popular Post! francozola 2,040 Posted November 17, 2011 Popular Post! Share Posted November 17, 2011 And LFC fans still use the "things were on the way up for us" argument, saying that Queen Kenny's appointment had uplifted the club and why did he still decide to leave?! Well then this proves that he had been fed up for quite some time. Can you imagine being the world's best striker at one point and then having to play in the Europa league against awful opposition while all the best players (and best mates) have already left the club, watch your one-man team again have to fight for a Europa league spot in the league when Man Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal are just so far ahead of you. How frustrated must you be, watching all your Spanish team mates win trophy after trophy and you've won jack squat when it comes to club honoursAnd you're absolutely right dodojojo, his real loyalties lie with Atletico, not Liverpool FC. But of course, how can anyone expect those deluded cunts to realize this. nofreakingway, manpe, Ezio and 4 others
Tortilla9 390
Torres has tried to take the high road with the Chelsea move. That unfortunately couldn't and wouldn't be allowed by LFC. It is what it is and I think Torres finally realizes that too. I think he's too decent a guy to give the LFC faithful the universally recognized finger but who here wouldn't mind that just for a second? I think he hoped for better after all he gave the club but LFC loyalty seems to be a one-way street which is fine. Just don't pretend you're so much better than the rest of us with your holier than thou crap. Torres may not have won trophies with LFC but he gave them a little extra when he played. He knew that, Rafa knew that, and so did the bass-akwards owners/management. He puts butts in the seats, he puts shirts on the backs, and he was very valuable to LFC. If he had left during the summer right after the WC, LFC would not have been worth as much and everybody knew that. If Torres had left under Rafa or Roy it would have been more acceptable. To leave under Kenny was like treason to the red koolaid drinkers. That they just could not/would not understand.Torres was absolutely worshipped by Atletico supporters. He was a childhood prodigy who came up the ranks and was loved, think Josh but a quicker rise. Atletico supporters loved him and still love him because he's from the youth program AND because he constantly turned his nose up at RM. One reason those bitter primadonas hate him.My regret about him playing for LFC is that they were so reliant on him for tactical and financial reasons that they rode him hard and put him away wet. Plus the continual back and forth between Spain and LFC - he's healthy, no he's not, yes he is. The medical management of Torres at LFC in conjunction with Spain is a mystery. It's a wonder he didn't miss more games.I think Torres gave Liverpool more than enough and I hope to hell he has the team success with Chelsea he didn't have with Liverpool or Atletico. Nothing can be done about the past and LFC, with their numbers, are always going to win the propaganda war. Best thing is for Torres to get on with it and help Chelsea win titles. Hope AVB and RA have a winter transfer plan to bolster the club for the rest of the season. Stay close to City, do well in the cup tournaments. Think next season is the one to really aim for the big silverware. Crossing fingers, toes and eyes that Torres will regain his form so he can be an important contributor to Chelsea's success. That would be the best possible outcome.
