Waterfall 893
And picking out a bad pass from a 3 on 1 situation from the most recent game in isolation is as fair as pointing out a player couldn't complete 50% of his passes for a game.I am not the one who started looking at small samples to prove a point. I was rather trying to be sarcastic with that 3 on1 comment.
LDN Blue 7,903
Mata isn't here even for a full month :toke:Mental.I'm all for criticising him, but to even discuss selling/loaning him out 1 month into the season?! Please tell me everyone going along with the joke in the OP?

Randall 315
Drogba hardly set the world alight when we first got him to be honest. I'm willing to give Torres this season to prove his worth.

Guest justin_3d
A week ago the media were all over Frank, his days were numbered with the English squad because he was too old, too slow (sound familiar?). Then the next day it was Torres' turn with Spain. Then they come back to Cobham to train, game time Frank starts and Torres doesn't. All is forgotten about Frank in the media and his demise earlier in the week and now it's all Torres. Torres didn't have a good 15-20 minutes on Saturday but the noise level seems like he played 90+ minutes and missed chance after chance.According to some AVB was a God because he had the balls to drop Torres. He's dropped Drogba, he's dropped Anelka, Kalou, Malouda, Torres. I say he's a God when he has the balls to drop Frank but that's just me.Resume normal broadcasting, ie Torres bashing.Torres last season deserves all the criticism he got from the press. This season, i don't think so, despite not scoring goal.He did good the first two games. The third he was bad, and this last one, he hardly got time.So far this season for me he has done ok. But if you compare his standard to the past he is still sucking, but it's not as bad as last season. And last your quote of I say he's a God when he has the balls to drop Frank but that's just me. Waterfall 893
7 goals and 2 assists in 20 matches in a new league wasn't so bad.

TomCFC 357
I'm a big Torres fan, but here's a little statistic: In the same amount of games, Sheva had scored six goals by now. Still keeping the faith though.
bababoom 4,478
He is not Iron Man, at Loserpool the fans used to cheer him and like a lot of players he is "confidence-driven". He had also Gerrard to play with just behind himI'm not disputing that, but last season he was still playing for Liverpool, and played the same as he is now. Sure, he scored some goals, but he still wasn't the Torres of 2008-09.

lionsden 4,689
keep the excuses coming guys. it's fantasticThou shall not loan out or sell a striker whose goals to game ratio and overall performance /contribution to the team in the last 9 months makes Steven Fletcher of Wolves look like super world class strikerLet's give him 20 years to prove his worth and only then can a definite judgment about him be justified

Blue Armour 4,443
I honestly don't know why the fans are over-reacting especially after AVB gave reasons as to why he dropped him.I'm not a Torres fan, but I think a lot of people are over-reacting after the last game. With two of the main performers in Mata and Sturridge being taken out during the game, I wasn't expecting much after that. I believe Torres hardly had a sniff of the ball.AVB made it clear he wants to get the the rest of the team playing good football and creating chances first. ( ATm, its obvious less than half the squad is playing at its best). This will make it easier for Fernando to slot in and benefit from that. It makes it easier for him to regain form. Remember 09-10 when the team played superb no matter who came in (Deco, Belleti, Mikel,Cole, etc) to replace the player that was injured/suspended?
