Fabregas' form concerns me, and he was the person who I had ear-marked as the new VC. The responsibility would suit Thibaut, I think, and would help him mature.

Azpi for me. the captain needs to be one of the players who is consistently good and he is that.

at present one of only a very few. I expect the majority of those currently out of form to get it back but the only alternatives to him are Matic or Costa for me but Costa plays a position that is rotated more than fullback. a good DM is like a skipper anyway and when Makalele was with us I felt of him as our skipper,the way he would co-ordinate his team mates.i don`t know how much that would show up on tv but on many occasions during games I would find myself watching him directing his team mates when he was off the ball.

I like Azpi as a candidate because he is a good blend of competitive and with good composure.i hope he will do that at RB where I think he would offer more offensively but either side he can be a leader.

OR it could be like Lampard and Cole, who were both released after being deemed no longer good enough for the team.

If Mourinho and the board still have any logic in them, then they would not be giving Ivanovic a new contract, not with the way he has been playing.
