I have fallen out of love for football and I just don't know what it is. I don't get as excited anymore and I can miss a Chelsea game and not even have the urge to follow it up and watch it. The thing is its not falling out of love for Chelsea its football in general, I don't even get excited when Holland player either and it's a little annoying but its reality. Does anyone else fell this way ????

Same here. I only rewatch important games, otherwise highlights will suffice. I've never really been a hardcore football fan, when I was much younger I actually disliked it and watched basketball. It's only after seeing a random exciting Chelsea game on TV by accident is when I started following Chelsea and football more in general. But it's never got to the heights of hardcore fandom, since I'm not able to attend games and football culture is non-existent here.

I've been getting that feeling, and I'm not just saying it, otherwise if i didn't i wouldn't bother replying to this topic in the first place.

I haven't gotten off my tits over a normal game of Chelsea in ages... I'm getting worried, i used to always go mental and be happy for days when we used to win games. The last time i felt like that was Champions League final but that's just obvious. But I'm not talkin about that, I'm talking about league games in general.

The last time i ever felt like this, was when we beat United 2-1 at the Bridge two seasons ago. I never been so happy, but i think it was also to do with proving the people in my school wrong at the same time and being confident we would win this. Eversince then for some reason i don't have that confidence we will win games anymore, even now i don't...

But it wasn't just that game in particuler i was like that, bofore that game i was like that every single time. If i was like that now, it would kill me to miss a game, i miss a lot of games now. Due to things like football training or being too busy, but still i can do those things without regrets, where as it would kill me two years ago to do it

And as for England, that's another one, i used to have the same love for international football as i did with club football, now i hate England, i didn't celebrate once during the Euro's. Just wasn't bothered, where as i remember loving the South Africa world cup, and was devistated when we lost to Germany... i would do anything to have that passion for my country again, now i barely even watch the matches, I'm just never bothered about it to be honest.

Congratulations!!!!

I feel you, badboy. I don't get as excited as I used to. And I love Chelsea more than the sport itself, I hardly watch other teams play.

This is the saddest thing i have ever read on here. im getting teary reading and thinking about it (especially as over the last year and a hald my love for football has grown to ungodly levels)

The good news is that I DO know a cure and it works EVERY time:

ive heard the best way is to get naked, find a field with cow dung from at least 3 different cows (no need to collect them). another thing to remember is a good quality sound system that you can carry around. you could use an iPod but its better if you have a system that can emit sound to any nearby people. the track you need is the theme tune to Requiem for a dream (ill link you), this song must be played as loud as possible.

now, you stand naked in the field whilst the intro blasts out. 40-50 seconds in you now need to make your way to the first cow dung. pick it up. lift it up (presentation of simba style from "the lion king") and then crush it with your hands.

now do exactly the same to the second cow dung.

for the third cow dung you willl need some fluid with you and a basin to mix it up in (you can prepare this before hand). you need to reduce the dung to a fine paste which you can then shower in by chucking it up in the air. be sure not to lift the basin up, leave it on the floor and shower yourself by violently squatting down, scooping up some paste with your hands, then leaping in to the air launching the paste upwards so it returns down on your body. with each leap scream "IS THIS WHAT YOU WANT". again, be sure the music is playing loud enough so that people around can hear you and your soundtrack.

and please do not commece the ritual for dung 3 until the track is at least 4:50

if the problem is still there 1 - 2 days after this, contact your GP.

I used to feel absolutely devastated when we lost a game but now its like '' oh well better luck next time''. If Real Madrid are playing Barca i used to watch it with excitement now its like ''well I have much better things to do''

Used to hate how serious i took football, when we used to lose i was devistated and hated being so sad about it. But what you don't realise is with such bad downs come such great ups, it's about the passion what counted.

I know what you said there Badboy, it's not such of a biggie when we lose now, well not for me it isn't anyway, don't get me wrong i am pissed for a few hours but i just let it go with ease. However i would do anything to have that passion back.

It's crazy how things go unnoticed like that, you never stop to think and be grateful for having the passione for it in the first place, but it's like that for many things. Human pshycology i suppose.

It's normal as you get older and get other things to do. I will never love sports as much as I did when I was say 12 years old. I went through a period where I lost all interest but have found a very good balance now. I love football, but it is just a game.

Honestly I can't relate to what you're saying. I CAN't, just can't miss a Chelsea game; if I do, I'd get up at any time to watch the first replay. When we lose a game, I often wake up at the middle of the night to think about tactics and selections.

Don't know if I'd change as I get older.

Yeah but you live in Lebanon though.... what else is there to do in Lebanon except for football and staying in a city which sounds like beetroot ?
